Are you serious? Many of you guys need a reality check if you think The Order was one of the best or most "memorable" games in recent years. Please...This game is all flash and barely any substance. Many would argue its a mere tech demo, which seems to be an alarming trend with Sony's exclusives this generation.

I 100% agree with you 76er. GOW's shooting mechanics were much more responsive and tight. The order at times seemed sort of sluggish, and moving in and out of cover required the use of two different buttons, "o" - I think - to enter, and "x" to exit. I thought that was incredibly awkward. Why not just map the same button to enter and exit cover.
I agree with most of what you said. Way too many QTEs. I mean hell, the final boss fight was one giant QTE-fest. Thats crap. Not being able to skip the often long and tedious cutscenes was also frustrating...and it often killed pacing. Visibility behind cover was horrendous too, largely in part because there were black "cinematic bars" running along the top and bottom of the screen. Trying to peek out from cover and spot a sprinting shotgunner was almost impossible at times - ...
a 9.5? Wow. Is this review real, or satire? Because Im sorry, but this game was nowhere near a 9.
too bad hardline has little reason at all to exist. BF4 is far and away better.
They have certainly fixed it since launch. BF4 is an incredible game now. The most realistic online shooter available today.
Frostbite may have its limitations on consoles, buts its a pretty damn dynamic engine. Think about all the things you can do in BF4. From the dozens of weapons and their realistic mods, to dynamic environmental destruction, to the various vehicles you can drive/fly...the possibilities in a single match are far beyond anything any other shooter can o...
I wholeheartedly disagree. The framerates in HL are horrendous online. I played a few matches and I'd say every 10 or so seconds, the game would chug along with rates dropping at least to 35-40. Not only does it negatively impact immersion, but it makes aiming difficult.
I switched over to BF4, and I never experience framerate drops on par with that of HL. I only play TDM, in both games. So its not as if I was playing TDM in BF4 and unfairly comparing it to conques...
I COULD NOT disagree more! BF4 is, in my opinion, the best online shooter I've ever played, with Halo 2 and COD 4 close behind. Dice has done an incredible job evolving and improving BF4 since its troubled launch. The game has great maps, dynamic destruction, realistic animation, and effective weapons that are a legitimate pleasure to modify.
Hardline, in my opinion, is not even on the same playing field. It feels less refined, and the weapons/mods are mostly recycled...
I wouldnt say its underrated at all. Id give it a 6.5/10. The graphics were impeccable for sure, but the gameplay was very pedestrian.
Not only that but I it was almost impossible to see vertically from behind cover due to the "cinematic" black bars running along the top and bottom of the screen. I had a hell of a time seeing shotgun rushers coming at me from behind cover...

Good for them. I genuinely enjoyed this game. It took me a bit by surprise as I was not really eager for its arrival.
Im a little concerned about the graphics, but the gameplay definitely promises a breath of fresh air. The real time, strategic destruction looks awesome.
I am serious. The only thing that looks next-genish are the large, hairy enemies. Other than that, the animations, textures, and maps are nothing notable. Not to mention everything just seems dark, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of dynamic lighting at play.
Then again, it is hard to judge with so many compressed videos floating around right now.
Tell me people weren't making a big deal of this video? It's a pointless 15 second clip that offers absolutely nothing in the way of substance. What a waste of time.
Honestly, it looks like a PS3 game to me. I'm not overly impressed. Textures don't appear to be overly sharp, and the animations certainly leave something to be desired. The main character doesn't even have a stair climbing animation - he merely runs up them as if he were on flat ground.
Thats my point, there are plenty of these games on the market. You run around with unrealistic, grossly oversized weapons and "hack and slash" your way through hordes of "monsters." Where have I seen this before?

id say its a decent buy at $25 or so bucks...I got it for $35 and even that is a bit high in my opinion.
Alien can certainly be frustrating and hard, but I wouldnt say thats its overly linear - certainly not as much as the Order or COD.
not gonna lie, this game getting delayed sux ballz.
Now that looks next-gen...I guess we'll have to wait and see.
