Yeah. Pretty solid game. Wish the single player was a bit more fleshed out, but overall a fun game.
Please, Battlefront is far and away more innovative than COD. Rarely if ever has a game so successfully captured the heart and soul of a movie. I played the battlefront Beta for hours and came away pretty damn impressed. The audio visual design is top notch, the physics are improved and best in class, the vehicles are inherently unique and true to the movie. Weapons feel fresh and unique what with their propensity to overheat. I don't know about you, but I don't often get the opp...
I cant believe this review. A 9.2 for this shit? Seriously? I played the beta for a couple hours and to be honest, it was the same old crap we've been getting since 2001 - except not as good.
Does IGN realize that a 9.2 score denotes mastery? A score that high indicates this game is exciting, fresh, compelling, nearly perfectly executed, and capable of setting new standards and trends within the FPS genre. Tell me, does this game really do that? After I played the b...
The fact that some of you people really think this game is "innovative" or much improved over previous iterations is honestly kinda scary.
I played the beta and its the same old shit we've been playing for the last decade plus. Same animations, same poor audio, all the guns feel similar, minimal recoil, uninspired maps lacking the magic of MW1, poor physics, minimal if any dynamic destruction, same perks and classes system...sigh.
Honestly, we ...
How so? Did you just ask me how the yearly editions of COD are uninspired? Honestly?
Lets see, its the same engine since what, 2001? The shooting mechanics haven't changed one bit in 14 years. Animations get recycled year over year, sounds get recycled year over year. Campaigns are incoherent, over-the-top messes every single time. The characters are uninspired, cliche ridden, b-grade movie crap. The engine is still painfully limited in terms of physics and dynamic...
Im sorry, but these games are nothing but cash grabbing, uninspired junk at this point.
Don't know about "masterpiece." That designation should be assigned to those few games that define a generation - as in Halo 2, or The Last of Us. I suppose time will tell.
No, I think Naughty Dog has earned our trust at this point.
I dont think its a good idea for Sony to get wrapped up in PS4 remodels or iterations. The company should be focusing on improving its online infrastructure/exclusive game offerings while drafting plans for PS5 sometime in the next 5 years.
Valid point...but I can't help but feel a bit disappointed.
Id say yes, I'd like developers to move onto to something new if at all possible. It's almost 2016, its probably time to stop slapping a 1080P paint-job on games that are 4, 5, 6 years old.
While I'm sure the game is fun, from a graphical standpoint, it doesn't really look much better than halo 4. Disappointing.
meh, looks pedestrian.
It has everything to do it. You mean to tell me you can't tell if Battlefront plays like a DICE game? Really? The overall movement of the characters, the dynamism of the frostbite engine. To me it's apparent DICE created this game.
That's not a bad thing however, nor does it mean the game lacks originality. I genuinely feel this game to be a comforting departure from the modern military shooter. Lets face it, Battlefront's ability to immerse you in the...
I suspect the online community for this game will be around for years to come. How many truly authentic Star Wars games are really out right now? None, at least until Battlefront anyway. Dont underestimate people's love for Star Wars.
Im not concerned honestly. I played the beta for about 6-8 hours and enjoyed myself rather immensely. And to think, I pretty much played one map the whole time...Wait until we have access to everything.
FYI: I have about 15 days of online play time invested in BF4...
This shooter feels "different", in a good way. It's a refreshing change of pace from all the modern military shooters out there.
The audio/visual design is outstanding. Explosions look great, and the ragdoll physics are easily best in show. When an enemy is vanquished, his body falls naturally, adhering to the contours of the landscape. Similarly, when struck by a massive explosion, enemies are often thrown dozens of feet into the air. Animations on the w...
I want a Last of Us movie.
"They took the Battlefront forumla, stripped core things away from it and replaced it with a simplistic version of Battlefield."
But that's the point, the fact that they are stripping any of the core mechanics away guarantees measureable change. You can claim that they implemented a "simplistic" version of Battlefield, but I reject that notion. The Frostbite engine is anything but simplistic. At this point, the engine is so dynamic that it opens up ...
