With the success of the Arkham series and now looks like Spider man will have its own trilogy on Playstation platforms this should signal the end of giving out the license to say EA/Activision who make a garbage game quickly and cheaply as possible for a quick buck.
Thankfully they realised if they want their super hero franchises to be successful in gaming as its in cinema they need the right developers give them guidance, freedom and patience to make the best possible game.
Only negative thing i could say about the game is a lack of side villains from the main quest, now the upcoming 3 DLC's will probably add more to it hopefully.
Code-Veronica and Nemesis please, do Dino Crisis as well. With the popularity of the Jurassic movies I am surprised nobody has decided to do some Dino action game
See those games I have mentioned above are big selling games with name recognition and Tomb Raider is nowhere near the franchise it used to be in the 90's and if the series is too have any chance to grow and be successful then releasing in a window that's not too clustered with heavy hitters is vital.
Look what happened to Titanfall 2, shame as it was a great game and EA might be nervy about releasing another one.
FIFA is bigger franchise, especially in Europe and that is releasing in September. Tomb raider really should have released in August it would have had a 4 week run with no competition. I don't think the executives running these companies realize that the vast majority of their customers are adults with disposable income and can afford to buy games all year round and not over rely on the fall/christmas window for sales.
Releasing in between Spider-Man, FIFA, AC Odyssey, Battlefield 5 and RDR2 I can see it bombing sales wise.
They originally tried to do both but ran into technical problems so FPS was chosen as the combat in the game is more suited to that judging by the demo.
Don't know why they couldn't have shown the demo originally at E3 to the public as I thought it was fantastic, like a more open colourful Deus Ex on steroids.
Know it is stated that its open world/rpg but its an FPS at its core so the way they have the shooter mechanics set up we can forget about Third Person mode which is a shame as the character customization looks fantastic and not seeing your character that you designed interact with the world around you is a shame.
With the first DLC releasing around Halloween it would be cool to have Hobgoblin in the DLC if he's not already part of the game.
Reboot/Remake Onimusha and Dino Crisis as well. I will never fully understand Capcom, they have great IP's with a dedicated fan base yet don't utilise them. Now they have turned a corner with Monster Hunter World, DMC 5 and Resident Evil 2, but think back to last gen they gave us crap such as Bionic Commando etc.
Show us some gameplay already please, considering members of the press were saying the behind closed doors demo at E3 was mind blowing.
Remake MGS 3 please! The End boss fight is worth it alone.
I only really want Bioware to make a Star Wars rpg drawing inspiration from KOTOR. Given Biowares recent history I am very cautious on this one just don't feel the hype as opposed to other titles releasing over the next year or so such as Spiderman, RDR2, Rage 2, Resident Evil 2, Jedi Fallen Order etc.
Definitely will, especially if you were to do it over the full year as RDR2 will have legs.
You have Spider man at the start of September and RDR2 at the end of October with FIFA, AC Odyssey and Battlefield in between so it going to be tough. Wonder why they couldn't push to release in August.
Whatever Konami decide whether its reboot/remake or entirely new sequel, hell even the original MG 1&2 there is a strong hardcore fan base that will buy it.
MGS Survive was a disaster, a game no one asked for. One thing they could do is take inspiration from Capcom remaking Resident Evil 2 and remake MGS3 Snake Eater, think about it, the open world aspect, survival elements/crafting, The End boss battle, it definitely has the most potential plus they can add on some multiplayer too please the suits.
Kraven boss battle would be good but I really hope Morlun is in it, keep him separate from the story if they have too.
Monster Hunter world, Resident Evil 2 remake and 7 but think last gen was horrendous compared to what came before it think Dino Crisis, Onimusha, Resident evil and Devil may cry as opposed to Bionic commando which was pure garbage.
At least we have 3 upcoming DLC's to look forward too, with the inevitable new villains to fight as well.
