Both need to succeed, Competition drives innovation.
Who cares if a "pacifist" plays a war "video game".
I see PC not being as viable when the next generation consoles come out because then the consoles will be more powerful then "MOST" PC's.
Affordability
Compatibility
Standardization
Will PC gaming die?? Most likely not but will not be a viable option for the general public.
I'm soooo happy for this game. This and Uncharted 3 for GOTY!!
Who cares?
Reading through these comments is quite funny. Now people are justifying why the Vita has the same crappy battery life as the 3DS now saying that it is "acceptable". Sony could of at least got a bigger battery and made the battery 6-8 hours instead of having people buy an battery pack(which is a good option.) Suddenly it is "acceptable" to have 3-5 hours on a full charge when about 6 months it was a huge problem... Am I the only one seeing the hypocrisy here or no?
This is exactly what CoD does. I predict that this and Medal of Honor will keep trading spots year after year and this will be just like how CoD is developed just this time people will somehow justify it how it isn't the same or it's different or it doesn't matter. Hypocrites.
In this economy it would be foolish.
I think this is gonna be more of a "preview" than a "beta" but you never know.
People understand how powerful a PC can be. The general consumer would rather play on a console which is more accessible and where all there friends play. In this economy everyone doesn't have time to go buy a high end PC when you can put $800 to something a little more useful.
Also, BF3 will probably sell more on each console compared to PC so shouldn't you put more effort into the platform that bring you more money?
Shush. You can't tell that to Battlefield fans they might catch an attitude and claim you have no idea what you are talking about. They don't see how they are hypocrites. This is the Messiah to them how dare you claim that Battlefield is anything less of the best game ever in existence. You my friend are a radical.
I had a dream.... That one day people can buy a game with their own money and not be scrutinized for what they enjoy playing in the comfort of their home. I had a dream.... Where one day Call of Duty and Battlefield gamers can one day sit in the same living room and own some noobs. I had a dream.... That people will stop making pointless articles showing their blatant bias towards games that has not even come out yet.
I can only dream!!
You bought a $2300 TV for one game?!?! i know you will buy other games and movies ect, but still.
As long as your happy, I respect the decision.
Your point?
BD was built in feature of the PS3 you had NO CHOICE.
3D on the other hand is a big investment to gamers and many will not shell out thousands of dollars when the content is limited as well as many people's eyes are strained.
Maybe in 5-10 years if the economy gets better and it goes glasses free but until then the install base will be lucky to reach 10%.
I'm too excited for this game. Me and my friends will put days into the game. I'm glad private matches have many more options for more fun. Can't wait!!! Between MW3 and Uncharted 3 I will have no life in November.
If Sony is banking on their 50 Million PS3 users to back them up on 3D they are sadly mistaken. Have they looked at the world economy?
Is 3D cool? Yes
Does it add something to gameplay? Yes
Is it affordable? No
And, until you fix the last problem you won't see a huge base of 3D adopters. Maybe 5-10 years from now.
You think the numbers will be close.
It will outsell BF by 2 to 1.
Cool Story Bro.
* Battlefield will come out of the gate with bugs and glitches pretty much like every other Battlefield game before it and will take a couple of months to fine tune the game.
* EA is most likely milk this series to the ground like they do with their sports titles just so they can try to beat CoD in sales( which we all know is not going to happen)
* EA is going to push out Medal of Honor and Battlefield yearly probably and it will implode on itself.
...
I'll GameFly it. No need to waste my money on an unproven game.
