So because YOU couldn't afford a seven year console until 2 years ago the entire gaming industry should not upgrade next year when it will be eight year old technology and mobile technology would be up to par.
"In this economy" Well we have record breaking numbers of tablets being sold at $500+ every year. The economy is fine for technology. I'm sorry fr your personal economic struggle but that shouldn't stop the evolution of technology.
Free online isn't gonna happen not only is that a billion dollar industry by itself but millions are still willing to pay and considering that next generation will likely be even more online based people will be even more willing to pay for a robust online infrastructure even though many won't be of course.
I personally looking for far better multitasking and other capabilities and I would love nothing more than a Kepler GPU but won't give my hopes up. I think thi...
You can say that even though Halo 4 possibly the greatest fps of the generation just came out? That's bold. Yes Sony brings it but let's not act like MS hasn't either.
According to sources Xbox will be delayed out to issues into 2014. So if Sony did release in 2013 then maybe but Microsoft has tons of money and one of the best marketing machines so it might not matter. I expect this race to be close. Who ever gets third party the most will likely edge.
Isn't there flaw to your argument? After those three months you can't play all those games anyway so you are forced to keep it going or lose all your things and also lose basic functions that shouldn't be paid for such as syncing trophies or timers for shutdown and installs. You would have to compare same timeline as Live forces you to pay to play PS+ forces you to pay to keep.
The majority of people are reckless and claim Call of Duty to be this mess. I hat being in the majority most of the time.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.
Once and for all economy has nothing to do with this at all. If that is the case why are people willing to spend hundreds of dollars on tablets, phones, and expensive TV's. Those prices haven't lowered the numbers increase every year.
Economics is a moot thing to say. And saying $300 for a console is too much then it seems to me next generation is gonna be in bad shape.
Of course it may have something to do with this generation being 6/7 years long a...
"Well then sell your console. You clearly dont need a gaming PC or consoles. They are redundant to you as you can play games on your smartphone and/or tablet. Why spend money on a device that will become redundant??
"Consoles will always be bought for 1 reason and 1 reason only: to play games. All the other crap is just a bonus. No one will buy a console to access facebook, stream movies or listen to music. That is why apps on a console are not a necessity. They ar...
For someone to call a tablet and a smartphone a PERSONAL COMPUTER seems quite ridiculous. And let's assume that is the case. Windows still wins on functionality.
PS3 doesn't "really" have Steam-works so that point is moot. One game called Portal 2 which DLC hasn't been rampant on for the PS3.
Hmm single play swearing is is different from people on multiplayer and you know it. It's war people will swear.
Cursing for the purpose of driving the story is different than people degrading other humans online.
You think Microsoft is going to panic with 90% marketshare because Steam is now on Linux? Linux doesn't even move double digit numbers and let's say some gamers do migrate to Linix enough won't that would harbor Microsoft.
And what is a "real" gamer anyway? An elitist who thinks one way?
So because you are 17+ you should be able to say racist rude ignorant comments to other human beings?
Or are we gonna be real about it and understand there are children playing and that being rude isn't okay no matter what the age on the back of the game says.
I think people are giving too much credit to trophies and achievements. Just play the game.
If the last thing we need next generation is graphics then why is there a next generation.
Sure there is storytelling and gameplay but that is up to the developers and not the hardware.
I think graphics is the first thing that is noticeably going to be upped and it needs to be how else can you justify a $400 console with just enhanced AI?
As a gamer this is good.*
Yes you are old fashioned and outdated. It's 2012 the time for dedicated technology is over.
Yes I understand you want gaming but at this moment having a dedicated gaming console is suicide. These are going to be media devices that also play games.
But you can't say that when the competition offers that free.
Live has the better infrastructure. Live has the better look and servers. All that is to be expected from Microsoft.
Sony has vastly improved but you will likely see them surpass it meet Live next generation.
$60 is easy to pay for Live because of what it offers and many people here don't share that same sentiment but millions actually do. If not ee would move to PSN yet that isn't as good in our opinions.
But it really boils down to ...
I'll personally but the Nextbox first but both consoles will be cool but I find it slightly idiotic that there are reasons for unannounced consoles.
You are likely to but the console that your friends game on anyway.
