It has pros and cons and simply dismissing cutting out used games sales seems like a silly thing to do. You have to see the sides and the numbers and understand that used games only serves the retail stores well for money at least.
Both sides have a point and PC has already gotten to this point with no problem.
Used games will die for consoles as well. Maybe not this generation but the inevitable will happen its just a matter if they will let it happen gradua...
To call them game consoles is a disservice really. I mean if these were solely gaming consoles releasing in 2013 they would be a pretty epic fail. Most devices now serve multiple purposes because it makes sense.
Yes you want to play games of course but these are now multimedia devices that can also play games you can have both. I can't think of a device coming out in 2013 that is strictly one thing anymore.

So I have two thoughts on this topic.
1. PC has effectively already done this for the most part. This seems to be okay and maybe it is because the games are cheaper. Either way blocking used game sales I think has no overall effect on the success of the new Xbox. Yes it will defer some players away but in the long run Microsoft nor publishers want used game sells.

Not deserved imo. This isn't a better fighter than Tekken. Also this isn't a fighting game to begin with as it would be considered a 'brawler'. Just seems weird that this game would win that sold poor and had some pretty bad reviews.
So $60 isn't expensive with expensive DLC but cheaper games more real sales and a superior back catalog isn't good enough? Seems legit.
Sony phones won't compete with top end phones simply because lack of penetration. The big brands hit every carrier even smaller ones while when Sony hits the US it gets some exclusive deal which cuts its user base into fractions.
Because I choose games that use strategy I'm lame but if I said over hyper shooters or short action adventure titles I wouldn't be lame? Makes sense.

I think both have pros and cons but when you outweigh them its hard to deny that PC just seems like the better overall experience for a gamer if you can stomach the way you have to play it which is being challenged with Steams Big Picture Mode which means soon I think PC will have all the grounds covered.
One can't possibly keep that sleek looking design of the Xperia Z or ZL when you have to worry about heat and packing in a CPU a GPU and a blu ray drive. I wish.
It's also likely to be five times more powerful/useful than a PS3.
Assuming Microsoft won't have the same hardware hiccups and has a brand recognition now I think letting them have a year or more ahead is kinda interesting.
Sure you can have more powerful hardware marginally and Sony has some pretty cool exclusives but it has almost been 8 years since the last generation.
And Microsoft has one of the most aggressive advertising budgets in technology.
But not gonna count Sony out of course. I say both ...
Tablets
Vizio has a better TV business than Sony. Sure Vizio doesn't have near the money but they sell and are well and are said to be bringing in the cheapest 4K set.
Also their new 10 inch and 7inch tablets are the best in class right now when they launch especially that 10 inch Tegra 4 beast and they made some really good phones coming internationally.
Then their all in ones and laptops are bloat free meaning that they run smoothly and are some of the most eye...
If 4K OLED or that Xperia Z is any indication then maybe Sony is ready to join the ranks of Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung, Vizio, etc. I think that would be best really. If you could but some Sony hardware behind some really impressive software I think many people would flock to it.
Sony at CES was actually impressive only really upstaged by Nvidia and that isn't really fair because the Tegra 4 is a real beast.
It's hard to even write an article about this really because people quickly dismiss this idea and core gamers are very quick to dismiss ideas or even acknowledge the mobile or casual market is growing and viable business and for gaming.
I really wished gamers would just grow up and see both sides and understand that they both can live together and not dismiss the other side just because it doesn't cater to their particular needs.
Besides 4k which isn't really gaming technology all of this is cool but we gotta see. Price is always major factor.
They don't matter as much as price or features or reliability or even availability. Sure they may push some sales but it isn't so much that it is a staggering number.
For hardcore gamers and I use the term loosly it would matter I suppose but for the mainstream folks who are the bulk of the purchases after a year or two not so much.
