What you and most core gamers fail to realize is real gamers aren't the only one buying these. If that was the case these sales would be dismal.
Tablets are a threat welcome to 2013. Sure the hardcore will buy it but the decision of iPad vs console for some are real. How can you possibly neglect the glaring numbers in the exponentially rising tablet and mobile world.

That's it right there. People don't want or expect a machine in 2013 to be a single embodying machine anymore.(Well some might but that is a downward trend.)
Phones now are so versatile and I expect the same from consoles.
Like a phone, on a console you will be always able to game but there is so much more that just adds to the value and experience..
Im all for it but don't place a female protagonist where she doesn't need to be. If she fits the role and it makes sense then by all means let the female protagonist live.
