Exactly. Games will be downscaled to match profits. It changes the gaming landscape in a negative way. Games akin to Netflix quality films.
This is good. I’ll probably upgrade to premium for the PS3 and PS1 games alone. I’m glad they are not including day one releases. It looks like it will be at least a year before their first party titles are released on there.
I just preordered two Evil Dead statues. One limited to 1000 and the other to 666. Each were 200 bucks and will make an awesome investment for sure.
Hahahaha it comes on 4 discs to everyone who doesn’t remember classic RPG’s from the PS1 days.
Sony still makes room for niche games. I mean look at Returnal. A Legend of Dragoon remake could easily sell millions.
Wouldn’t it be cool if Bluepoint games tackled a full on remake? But sadly they are creating an original IP.
Rockstar is completely taking away the magic of GTA.
I’m a Sony guy, but Microsoft has plenty of opportunities to come out on top provided they don’t screw anything up.
The Evil Within 1 is one of the best horror games imo. Its actually one of the scariest games out there.
And it’s actually Sony’s fault. The publisher pushes for these kind of things. They are trying to turn Gran Turismo into a live service game.
I have a feeling Sony being “aggressive” with live service games will garner us games like GT7. With its relentless in your face micro transactions and overall presentation that makes purchasing micro transactions appealing to many.
It should also break Rockstars pattern of not making any dlc for the single player portion of the game. GTA online is Rockstars live service money making machine. Now they need to turn some of that profit into single player expansions to win back some of the trust lost from consumers. Hopefully this will change with GTA VI but I’m certainly not holding out for it. GTA IV was certainly Rockstars glory days.
Because they’re charging us for it? And gamers are quite demanding of Rockstar right now. They haven’t put out a new GTA in years and the notion with GTA V is that they are milking that game. So gamers are quite critical of any sort of rerelease of an almost ten year old game that has already made billions.
Co-op and multiplayer are being used to make MTX more integrated and appealing. I’m glad this game is single player only. The reason Gran Turismo 7 is always online is so we are always being bombarded by MTX and can quickly and easily purchase cars when they pressure us to do so.
The fact that people are tired of this game means a lot of people are going into this with a negative mindset. But I’m not going back into it at all.
Hopefully that’s a ways off. It feels like I just got my PS5 and I’ve had it for almost a year and a half.
But get ready because it’s going to end next year. This is really the last year that Sony also prioritizes PS4. Unless Ragnarok gets delayed. But Spider Man 2 will really kick off the PS5 for them unofficially. You can bet Sony will ensure that consoles are available then.
Really that makes no sense because games take at least two years to make. You’re saying the developers knew covid was going to happen and cause semiconductor issues even before it happened? These games were made from the beginning with cross gen in mind. Take Elden Ring and Horizon for example. These games have been in development for years and the devs had every intention of them being cross gen. Covid did not cause this to happen. The start of the PS5 and Series X gen was always meant...
And nowadays a game of that scale will only come around once every ten years or so. I mean games like Horizon and GOW have about five years between releases and they are nowhere near held to as high of a standard as a GTA or Red Dead game. It’s unfortunate but the days of Rockstar starting on a sequel very soon after release are over. They chill for about three years afterwards and make bank on microtransactions. They simply don’t need to make another one so soon.
The game was made to be a live service game? That was their goals for the game. Hence the name Halo “Infinite”. Something that goes on and on.
