Wow there some long post in this thread!
blame Nintendo!
So now even Blu Ray movies are being delayed!! haha jk.. Somebody had to say it!
Yes hopefully the support will continue because I love my hacked PSP... if you catch my drift!
Yeah you are right that the servers are hosted by the developers. But what about the developers that are owned by Sony and games that are published by Sony like Motorstorm, Resistance 1&2, Warhawk, M.A.G, Socom, LBP and any other first party titles.. Those companies and games are backed and owned by Sonys so i'm pretty sure Sony is helping them maintain and set servers up which again takes money. Thats why most First Party games have better online compared to third party titles like COD4 ...
Its hard for Sony to advertise their games when they are still losing money for each PS3 sold and lose even more money when that PS3 owner signs up for PSN. More people on PSN means more servers that Sony has to buy and maintain which cost money as well. On top of that providing Home and updates that are free for PS3 owners are costing them a lot of resources and money.
I give props to Sony for keeping PSN free and providing great updates but they are probably regretting thei...
Or maybe its because how crappy PSN architecture is compared to XBL that's why Third party developers prefer having their beta there instead of PS3.. I mean if a first party developed game like Socom was having so much problems on PSN think if it was a third party developer. Even today the full version of COD4 for PS3 is still having problems on PSN.
Well it better run at 1080p native after 2 years worth of delays. Wasn't this game suppose to be a launch title for the PS3 and still now out.
Seems like you can't wait for your 2nd life rip off! Congrats!
I agree that home will be awesome but it will not be a system seller. It would be an added benefit in buying a PS3 but people are not going to be buying a PS3 just so they can play with home.
There's no doubt that the PS3 is the best bang for the buck. What people(PS3 fans)won't accept that if you just want to play NEXT GEN games, don't have high speed internet and don't have an HDTV then your better of with the Arcade 360 with the price point of $199. So its a great thing that M$ is giving GAMERS a choice.. Theres not a doubt that the PS3 is a great machine but if somebody just wants to play games and bought a PS3 then they are not getting their moneys worth if they are not going...
Sweet can't wait for those Chinese Blu Ray player that are suppose to be sub $200 for black friday!
I wouldn't say the 360 is kicking ass.. It was on life support but now off it.. I give props to M$ for keeping the 360 in Japan and giving the Japanese games they love compared to their main competition but I dont think M$ will ever crack that market unless Sony and Nintendo stop making game consoles or somehow rebrand the 360 to a japanese brand like Toshiba or Panasonic.
LOL!
@juuken
OWNED!
@juu
Yeah a 360 wouldn't work for you if you need all that stuff.. Your better off buying a PS3 if need that all that stuff. But if you just want your kids to play games and no need to play online then go with the 360 because you won't need Wifi adapter, an HD movie player, a Hardrive for game installs.. You can also get the added benefit of playing your DVD collection which the Wii does not do.
" agree, there is choice but what Microsoft is doing is only hurting the gaming industry.
I can only wonder how much better many 360 games would be if the harddrive was mandatory. I also wonder what it would be like if HD-DVD was a built in.
Sure, by making those optional it makes the pricing on the 360 more appealing and help satisfy those who are more in line with casual gaming but it really does hurt the hardcore market."
If you think ...
Can somebody please explain to me whats so cool about LBP? from watching all the game videos I dont get why every PS3 fans are proclaiming to be the next coming of christ. I mean yeah it has pretty graphics. But that's about it.
You should've hacked your PSP.. My PSP is getting a lot of love now!
@Kobe
"were not talking about third party developers, were talking how Sony doesnt need exclusive third party titles. taking them away completely would destroy any system, im just saying sony doesnt need one exclusive titles that's going to be multiplatform anyway. "
Funny you say that but when FF13 went Multi Plat it caused a ruckus on the internet. That was a huge blow to Sony and even hardcore PS3 fanboys can admit that. Also when GTA4, DMC4, AC6 which were ...
"Seesh. give it a break. so who cares if its not exclusive. once again sony relies on first party not third party and you should too."
Well if that's the case lets see what happens if Third party developers stopped developing for the PS3. Can you imagine not having Madden,GTA 4, Call of Duty, FF VIII, MGS4, DMC4, NCAA, NBA Live etc etc.. You make it sound like Sony doesn't need third party support to be sucessful. Third Party support is crucial and probably the most imp...
"Sony didn't lose exclusive second party intellectual property (IP) because of money it was the user-base. Some developers were scared that they wouldn't make their money making a game exclusive to the PlayStation 3."
So this should debunk all the rumors that PS3 fans spread about how M$ is buying up former PS exclusives like DMC, GTA, Ace Combat and now FF13. No! its a known gaming industry strategy of buying exclusives from developers. Nintendo did it, Sony has done...
