They said thy are not manufacturing any more. They are still supporting it. Also when new console is released they are back compatible so really no need to keep the older console unless you choose to.
I purchased with sale and now this new. Not going to cry but a heavy sigh...lol!

SONY is starting to. More games in PC, Building up cloud infrastructure, Jim Ryan wanting to get millions of copies of games to the PS install base, Netflix partnership. The signs are there. Just waiting to see what Sony is going to name it.

I'm going to have to spend more money on storage this holiday both Series and PS. Come February nothing is getting deleted or transferred back and forth. Especially this game!!

There is too much money to be made for Sony to not bring their games to PC. Imagine the money on sales of God of War Ragnorok if it available to PC owners 6 months after its console release you're talking about the potential double or triple the sales of the game. Seeing that the first one sold close to 20 million.
I also see Sony moving to day and date releases. How else does Jim Ryan plan to sell 100 million copies of a game?
Yeah, could have really used that some months ago like when the game first came out. I did finish the game after a lot of frustration with crashing at boss fights and system updates when in rest mode.
So House Marque finally figured out how to implement a save method.
Might go back to platinum the game since I can officially save now. Looking forward to a better experience all of the updates
No it won't matter. People will be more focused on getting consoles Series, PS5, Switch this holiday.
While the Series will have newly released games for the holiday which is great, the PS5 still has a good lineup of games already released. People who are new purchasers of the system will get to enjoy the games between 1st and 3rd party.
MS will just have 2 new shiny games to promote more during this upcoming holiday season.
