Everyone should have known that the price was going to go up on GP after MS initially jumped the gun and raised the price and then lowered it over a year ago. No crystal ball needed to see that this was coming.
I don't think that they are going to raise the price on the existing hardware like Sony, but the PRO model of the Series X that is soon to come will be more money.
See Imalwaysright comment above. Sony has been paying for timed exclusive deals since the PS1. The first Tomb Raider was a times exclusive and was available to the Sega Saturn for a year after its release. Also Tobm Raider 2 and 3 were only on Playstation. The Tenchseties was another example as well. This was before xbox.
So MS will collect the billions of dollars in sales with COD at $70 bucks from the user base of PS, PC, and Series X until the next COD comes out and then put it on Game Pass.
No need to break contract.

However I still think this will go through though, because the acquisition is not anticompetitive.
It also shows that Sony is shook that they could potentially loose the market lead.
I said this before and I'll say it again. This deal is going to go through. This is all just posturing by Sony to get a better deal from MS who will be acquiring ABK.
Company A (Activision) WANTS to be acquired by Company B (MS). This is not a hostile take over of a company.
This is ultimately about 💰 and Activision shareholders want thier cut of this deal.
So it's sustainable for MS. I'm good with that.
The deal is inevitable but since Sony is doing thier PR speak about how this deal is bad now MS has to PR speak to counter it.
They didn't have to speak out on the Bethesda deal because Sony wasn't making the rounds to regulators about why the deal is bad for them.
Then don't buy the skin and just have fun and play the game.
This is about bolstering game services and this acquisition and other to come is about having content.
ABK is business and they WANT this deal to go through and it will.
The website is just another step towards the inevitable.
