There will definitely be more acquisitions to come this year and in the future of this generation.
With Gamepass adding more and more content and Sony's project Spartacus coming soon all of these acquisitions are for securing talent/staff for more game franchises on each service.
Just watching to find out which gameing studios/company ends up under MS or Sony,
True! Instead of paying money to keep it off the competitors console for a period of time just use the money towards buying the studio!
With the acquisitions going the way they are if MS buys Capcom they are looking to make a large amount of money.

It's still the beginning of the generation and I'm not counting MS this early when they still have their wallet our to make more acquisitions
That might be tough if Gamepass keeps putting out games that are Day and date releases between 1st and 3rd party deals. The Series S more available as well. More then the XSX and the PS5.
That and there isn't enough hardware available from Sony right now.
Create a whole new Japanese gaming division get buy Bandai Namco, Sega , Square Enix and From Software and in if he's willing for a some multi billions Kojima productions. All in one house.
Take two as well. they are masters of keeping people coming back for a game that came out 8 plus years ago

That's not a monopoly if there are other game companies within that space. Now if MS aquire Nintendo and Sony (one of their biggest competitors) I would agree with you.
Didn't Sony just aquire a studio to bring more of there games to PC and Firesprite to develop for VR?

It not about being happy about it. The gaming industry is about Money 1st then competition 2nd.
You just have 2 companies approaching this method in two different ways.
I don't think exclusive to Xbox, but will Microsoft be collecting money from Playstation sales on COD...oh yes!

This was the way the industry was going...towards the money!
Both Sony and Microsoft said that the traditional way of building an expensive box in mass and then hoping to sell a lot of different games is not as profitable.
Subscription services is a constant revenue stream. It why Sony is moving in that direction as well even though they say otherwise.
I just hope thatbkeep improving the service, stay gamer...

Microsoft best way to make even more money is to have Microsoft games on more consoles even Playstation. Also Microsoft won't mind Playstation players pay 70 dollars on games that they publish that are not on Gamepass
