Next gen can mean more the power friend.
First off, you don't speak for 99% of people, that number is too large to make sense.
Consider that people who buy this, may potentially buy it for it's portability factor, therefore that means there's a good amount of people willing to play it during travel, or just playing it somewhere else from home.
I mean you're being EXTREMELY presumptuous by saying "the majority of people" , by playing the system period people will be usin...
Right? Shame on them for marketing a handheld product as portable, I mean...who would want to play a portable platorm...on the go...?
@OmnislashVer36 you're trying very hard to bash this commercial, but this isn't disconnected from reality, it's disconnected from YOUR reality, just because you sit at home and have no reason to travel that doesn't mean other people don't or won't be interested.
I'm sure there's someone who would love to throw this in the backpack, pull it out at work or something, and when you're done with it, you put it in it's case then in your ba...
Well considering that the FIRST thing he was doing was sitting at home playing it docked, it would be safe to assume most people play at home on their console.
Oh wait, the SECOND thing he's doing is going on a bus, then the plane.
N4G has so many opinion pieces it's really getting hard to separate facts from just speculation.
Yeah for sure, if Nintendo makes this their central pillar for their games, before the devs were split between 3DS and Wii U and they ended up going to 3DS cause it sold better.
Now they will all go to Switch and it shall sell better since it will have more games on it.
If you ask me Nintendo is ahead of the game when it comes to consoles, they realize consoles will never be as powerful as they try to be or pretend to be, I mean we can show off the PS4 Pro and the Scorpio but I doubt either of those seem to be able to run games at a stable or smooth framerate and continue looking nice as people pretend they are.
So Nintendo goes after the other side of gaming, people actually looking for fun and new experiences, my only gripe is really how...
Nothing is stopping you from playing a Zelda game, you don't need a powerful console to play a Zelda game you just need to actually be willing to wait for it to come out and get the platform it's on.
Games are about fun and experiences, not just pretending you have the most powerful platform when yearly new tech is coming out that surpasses it on the PC side of things.
I think you seem to be forgetting a lot of consoles were sold with some kind of gimmick, sure Nintendo may wear their gimmick in their hardware, but Sony and MS were just as gimmicky, did you forget about the Eyetoy? The Kinect? The Move? Vita and PS4 remote play? Microsoft Smart Glass? Hololens? I mean hell even the PS4 controller has a touch pad and a lightbar for games...which is.,....A GIMMICK.
And don't even mention power because the current gen consoles are basica...
Isn't this comparison a bit unfair, considering the PS4 has been out for 4 years vs Switch which hasn't even seen the light of day?
This argument can be used with most things really, You can get a vita at $250, or you can get a 360 slim @ 250 which has competent online, tons of games, free games monthly, bigger hard drive and cheaper memory options.
I'm not a fanboy or anything but it seems a bit biased, I think anyone getting the Switch is gr...
I think i've got to wait to get my hands on it first, I know streamlining is a scary word for a lot, but sometimes change is for the better.
So, how about so me photos of the accessories?
N4G: After Dark
I see what you're saying, but at the same time, I don't...one day I was in a regular Walmart and I saw a PSVR Bundle just sitting in the games section, showing that they at least had enough stock for people to get it even if they came in the middle of the day, where as Nintendo doesn't even bother stocking enough for their hot item to make it pas the first hour of opening in some if not ALL stores.
Sure it'd be easy to dismiss if this were a first couple tim...
Come on, it's Nintendo we're talking about, they won't.
Not to mention their consoles are region locked, so should you move to another part of the world, you have to buy a completely new console/handheld just to be able to enjoy the game.
I think Nintendo Switch will be the winning hardware of 2017, it will sell well in all 3 regions, whereas XBOX only does well in the U.S. Not to mention most of the people who wanted a new Xbox already went with the S, while the Switch looks totally new from a console and a handheld stand point.
Anyone complaining about power should just get a PC.
