The packets sent online are typically very small. Load up any online game and check out your network, it will tell you exactly how much incoming/outgoing file sizes there are.

Actually, for laptops, Vista is better than XP simple because Vista has better power management. Something like 13% better or some such number that I can't quite recall.

I was forced to start using it this year(because of school) and I must say after a couple of days of tinkering with it, I must say it's quite nice. Loads faster, visuals are a lot better with Ubuntu and other such things. But having said that I find networking and basic software installation easier on Vista. Granted it's not participially hard on Linux once you figure it out, just not as simple as point and click.

Meh. Don't get my wrong I love a good CG/in game movie as much as the next guy but CG movies do not get me pumped for a game.
Actual in game footage, a fight scene, world exploring, something in game is what gets me excited. That at least shows how good the game will be, not how good of a CGI artist the company has.
