Takes place way before mgs4. In fact takes place a few years after the events of peacemaker.

I believe the time line is as follows

MGS 3 snake eater
MGS peace walker
MGS ground zeroes
MGS phantom pain
MGS original
Mgs2 sons of liberty
MGS 4 guns of the Patriots

There are the portable ops stuff as well but those are more spin offs I believe.

Kojima is wrong on one thing, portables has always done well in Japan ever since the original Gameboy came out. It is the mobile phone games that are hampering core gaming in Japan.

Also it doesn't help the couch gaming scene when Nintendo themselves are focusing much of their resources to the 3DS. Also it doesn't help that a vast majority of Japanese developers are too focused on westernizing their franchises. Leaving only the niche Otaku publishers to carry on the ...

Oh look another article about something that really doesn't matter at all.

There are many factors for this like the majority of the PS4 library is also available on the PS3. There isn't really anything compelling software out at this point in time though MGS will help.

So the Wii U is doing better than the PS4 at this point in time. Does this news make the Wii U situation any better? No. Does that mean the PS4 is doomed in Japan? No. Like I said wh...

@ otakudjking

My point is does it really matter that the PS4 is selling below the Wii U at this point? Like I said it is premature for these types of articles to show up as often as they do.

So SM3DW boosted the sales of the U but it really hasn't helped it in the long run has it? That's why the U is having much more a tougher time than the PS4. The U has released major titles the PS4 has yet to do so.

Also everyone thinks that the ha...

I have no problem if a movie is made as long as it is done well which it sounds like it will with Neil and Sam Rami at the helm.

It will also give people a chance who haven't played the game a glimpse of what the game is which may make them try the game for a fuller experience. Also Sony needs to grow their franchises into the more mainstream to be recognized by regular folk rather than core gamers. It is the same reason why Mario and Halo are so easily recognized. Sony w...

I'm not disagreeing with the article but i find it premature to think that the PS4 is going to tank in Japan when no software of interest has released over there.

The Wii U is different cause Nintendo has released some of their heavy hitters but that hasn't helped it one bit, maybe Mario Kart or Zelda may change things.

Handhelds have always been popular in Japan. Their console history hasn't been very big at all if you look at sales in Japan over...

With the majority of the Atelier series it catered to its fans the hardcore ones that has been with the series since it began. The Arland series is the very definition of Atelier fans being very hardcore with its time management & gameplay.

With the Dust series Gust took a step forward into making the franchise a little more accessible to new players. Ayesha's time management was very manageable & its gameplay was easier to get into. With what i hear with Esha &am...

First of all the Wii U released during the holiday season which will inflate sales regardless of system. While the PS4 released during a relative slow week.

Japan is very dependent on software & as of now the PS4 is lacking real Japanese games that interest the Japanese. Yakuza is a good start but still that series although popular was also released on the PS3, in fact many games for the PS4 have the PS3 equivalent & sometimes a Vita one.

If you look ...

I agree! Most of the people who were in charge when the very publicized disagreement occurred are no longer there. Even if it was for just one game I would love to see what both these companies can do if they work together.

You do know that was a satirical article by Jim Sterling right? The actual headline should read 'fanboys' in general are the worst.

It happens with all games regardless of console. Titan Fall isn't the first game and it certainly won't be the last. Expect the same article in a few weeks when Infamous is out.

It's a neverending cycle unfortunately.

Like i said in the Phil Spencer article. Good on the Microsoft guys to show some respect for a man that has done a lot for the industry.

My question is where is Nintendo in all of this? Not a single tweet or message from anyone over there to at least show some respect to Jack.

Good on the guys at Microsoft for respecting a man that has done so much for the industry.

A little disheartening is where is Nintendo in this? Where is there respect?

Sometimes we take for granted what we have and when it is gone it leaves an empty feeling.

Jack was one of a kind. One of the good people in this harsh industry we call business. He was basically 'us' in a business suit, a genuine, likable person who cared very much for the consumers. He has been with us Playstation nation since the very beginning from the many good times and stuck with it during the not so good times.

There is no replacing Jack and ...

True but I did say for those who do not care for online there is no point to get Titanfall.

I'm not saying that the game is gonna crash and burn but I do think that there are too many people believing that the sales of the game is going to set records and miraculous pull the Xboxone out of the hole it's in. It's going to do well no doubt but Microsoft and many journalist out there have set way to high the bar.

Maybe Ubisoft is using the Guerilla Games method of rendering?

Still a little at odds with this cause it looks no where as good as it did during e3 and that was the 'wow' factor that made a lot of people hyped for this game.

I'll have to see more to make a decision if this will be in the library.

Can the Xbox One catch up to the PS4? If the PS3 was able to make up and surpass the 10 million lead the 360 had anything is possible.

However Sony spent a ton to recover from their launch woes of the the PS3 (literally using much of the profit the PS2 brought in). Is Microsoft willing to do the same? With a new CEO & a guy who literally destroyed a well respected brand the chances of them doing the same is very unlikely.

I still believe the 'online' only aspect of the game is going to hurt it more than help it. Sure there are a lot of people who have internet but there is a lot of people who do not. People say this is going to be the next COD but the difference is that COD has a single player campaign for those who do not care for online.

Will it do well, sure but i don't think the numbers are going to be at the mark Microsoft thinks it will be.

The very definition of a guilty pleasure....gotta give the Big Aristotle some credit for trying again.

4353d ago 5 agree0 disagreeView comment

I think the downside for the game is that it is an 'online' only game. Can you imagine a parent buying this game for their kid that live in like a rural area with weak internet to no internet at all & finding that out?

I haven't played it but is there an offline mode at all? If so than that should be good but where is the fun in going against bots. I think Microsoft is putting too much stake in a game that is limited to people with online. Whereas Infamous is ...
