MS troubles weren't for everyone on XBL. PSN's troubles weren't for everyone, I was able to get on no problem. You guys make it sound like PSN was down for everyone and XBL was only down for some, when in reality they were both only down for some...but if you feel like it's worst on PSN then you're entitled to your opinion.
Also, PSN hasn't been down every week. There was the DDoS attacks that hit a lot of online services then this little hick up. It...
I'm glad they don't have anything to show yet... realistically they've had the franchise for a year, who knows how long actual work started. Anything they show now would be rough, a target render or in alpha... and we know how some people react to anything being shown that isn't perfect even though it's prealpha/alpha build. I'm guessing if we something at E3 it will be a short teaser.
oh I've seen them. I can't believe some of the stuff Ive read! I don't know how some of these people have friends or how they can live with themselves.
According to giantbomb.com D4 and Dying light is running on UE4. Seeing as DX12 hasn't released yet... its currently impossible for either to be running DX12.
PS4 runs a modified, i believe, Open GL system, it supports DX11 features and will also support DX12 feature at least they'll make efforts to. I believe The Tomorrow Children uses tech, VGXI, that will be a part of DX12.
That gamingbolt comment section is crazy, at least in that other Stardock CEO article. The stuff they were saying... wow, I just can't understand that kind of blind fanboyism.
Here's a taste of what they were saying:
"I wonder how much Sony paid MS to use the DX12 tech. Sony can't think for themselves"
"PS4 held back AC Unity. I bet X1 version would be at 1080p if not for the PS4 CPU"
"PS4 CPU sucks"
...
even with DX12 it's only going to do 1080p, I doubt either console will be able to do graphically intense games at 4K... they don't have the raw power for it.
@slapedurmomsace
the funny thing is it ain't even his/their d*ck lol In an article the is stating that the consoles are equal or close to it, he still left like that wasn't enough and had to let others know that the console he chose is the superior one.
It's not going to be cheap, that's for sure. It's going to have its own CPU & GPU.... so yeah. I'm guessing it'll be viable for business first then consumer later. I think ME is selling those monitor/PC table tops but they're really expensive. I think it'll evetually get cheaper then this will make an impact.
I would love to have a compact, reasonably priced version of this.
@DarkOcelet I'm in the same boat as you are. I thought the concept was very cool. I couldn't figure out why people bashed it so much, I mean if you don't like the setting/art style that is totally understandable. It was being judged as a full game months and months before it even released. We hadn't even see that much footage of it yet, but it was automatically dismissed. I don't know if it's because it's RAD. They're not well known, they don't have a long ...
the really interesting thing is that it is now a "Greatly anticipated" game...
Just out of curiosity, since it seems to be brought up a lot with this game, what gameplay looks interesting?
I've heard people look at COD gp video's and lose their minds, "oh, that looks so good" "it's so fast" I've seen people look at video of gp from a racing game and lose their minds "oh man, thats looking real good"
My questions is how can you really tell from a trailer/video if the gameplay is actually good...
Same thing in the US. It always left me scratching my head, how is it that Sony relies so little on Advertising when it is a proven method for getting people to buy your game. They got a new ad agency a few years back and I thought things would change, but it doesn't seem to have changed all that much. They still under advertise their games.
@gangsta_red
I understand what you're saying, but there is still a limit. That limit is hardware. You can optimized all you want but there is still a limit.
Imagine your fiber wire connection and the data that gets shot through it. There is a limit to how much data can be sent, the ways to get around that you can make the pipe the data gets shot through bigger. Some how make the data smaller so that more of it can be crammed together or find a way to sho...
What! No I didn't...
Of course I realize that, you could also implement kinect gestures into games that didn't have full Kinect functions ala Dead Rising 3. Every example they gave in that video is you using your hands to virtually move things around.
I like the example they use of having a giant AR monitor show up on your wall, that would be great and saves me a bunch of money on buying a new physical TV.
No, I'm not attacking ...
I honestly wouldn't want this for gaming, as it's makes me think of gaming with Kinect. It'll just look like I'm flailing my arms around, to the ones viewing me.
This would be a great thing for everyday use. Do you know how amazing that would be to have this available when i'm walking in the mall or at work?!?! If they can get this down to Google Glasses size then it would so easy to wear and take around everywhere. I'm glad that MS is making this a li...
Here's the thing that people aren't really thinking about: Even IF it were for the Xbox One it's still going to be hardware limited. The "Max" for the PS4 and X1 are set, it's set via their hardware which software has no way of getting around. 50% more performance, but still locked to the hardware limits.. which is still lower than that of the PS4.
This has been, so far, one of the worst gens when it comes to fanboys. The sooner you guys just accept ...
I haven't read the article, not gonna give them the clicks, but how can a game that has been bashed and called "boring" for almost a year now by the media still be considered a disappointment when it releases? In order for something to be dissapointing doesn't it need to have been hyped or anticipated ala Watch Dogs? It was labeled "crap" and not worthy of purchasing before it was even released so how can it be a disappointment when it releases?
How can a game that's been put down or criticized for months and months before release be the biggest disappointment? They're already not expecting it to be very good. I thought Forbes was a good pub? If they need an example of something being a disappointment all they nee to do was look at 2014 releases.
Above
Could it be that all of November isn't considered "holiday season" and only the last week, aka Black Friday week, is lumped in with "holiday season"
Just a thought. Well we all know that VG charts has been off in the past, no questions about that. At least they've been consistently off across all platforms. I guess we'll never find out the real #'s until these companies officially release them.
I'm leaning toward what @abzdiine said, it's going to be hard to change the minds of the media who seem to already have made up their minds.
