I love the Zelda series why would I want then to stop that franchise.

I can't play Zelda, Mario, Metroid, or Smash Brothers on those consoles so your point is useless. I also have a so called "true" home console (PS4) and since I have the Switch I haven't touched.

I'm okay playing at 30 - 50% brightness because the Switch screen is pretty bright. People also forget to turn on airplane mode when on the go. That gives me additional battery usage.
Not at all. If you watch the comparisons between Switch, PS4, and Xbox one you'll see the differences aren't drastic. The graphics of the Switch are definitely better than my PS3 and not too far behind my PS4.
People usually use headphones so battery life shouldn't be too bad.
I also turn on airplane mode when not playing multiplayer games with people.
I'm so excited for Wonderboy. I've never been part of the indie scene until I got a Switch. I got Graceful Explosion Machine, Snipperclips, World of Goo, and Mr Shifty. I have a feeling that this is going to be a great addition to my collection.

I wish the battery life was higher, but do people usually play handhelds for more than 3 hours on the go? I know everyone's use case is different but I'm genuinely curious.
I have a 21,000 mAh portable battery just in case but I've never had to use it for my Switch so far.

You seem to forget that the console you mention are way bigger in size than the Switch. When you try to fit powerful components in a small form factor the price of those components increase.
It's like trying to put the specs of a top of the line gaming PC into a laptop. The laptop will cost way more than the desktop.
The Vita didn't come close power wise to the Switch. The Switch is more powerful than the PS3 and Xbox 360 while the Vita definitely isn't.
