You may want to check your facts as most AAA titles sell much better on PS4 than on the Xbox One. I own an Xbox One but even I still buy all of my multiplatform titles on PS4. I literally own an Xbox for the exclusives, that's all. What's funny is the dev didn't even mention sales. You started your comment off right then took a huge dive into the crazy pool.
After getting my hands on it I think the problems with the graphical fidelity are greatly exaggerated by people who haven't played it. Besides for a striking lack of shadows and particle effects I think it looks quite good. I'm more concerned by it's over familiarity. I actually agree with most of what you said,but the graphics aren't even great, forget mind blowing like you stated. Also, some destructability within the environments could have been a sweet new game changer. Imagine carving up someones cover with the Lancer then finishing them off with the Gnasher. This game is a lot deeper and has so much more to it than a lot of people give it credit for. I for one am counting the days. Super excited about this game.
I've always loved Gears, but I was expecting a lot more. Destructable cover and environments for starters. Being able to chip away at someones cover to force them out could've been so cool. Apart from the Dodgeball game mode this looks nearly identical to the Gears Remaster. Just took all the excitement from watching that sweet new trailer away from me completely. Oh well, hopefully the campaign has a great story to tell as that's always been my favorite part of the franchise.......
I agree. How such a small developer had the audacity to create something so sprawling is inspiring. Resolution has nothing to do with the graphics. Resolution is clarity of the image. Call of Duty has better Resolution and frame rate than say Ryse and The Order 1886, but I don't think anyone would argue that Call of Duty looks better. PS4 and Xbox players(myself included) should both get use to 900p 30fps games because as these games get more demanding it's going to show up with downgraded visuals on both platforms. Did you play a lot of mp shooters in the 90's? I love it, reminds me of Quake mixed with Unreal Tournament with a more cartoony look. I knew I'd love it after I realized I could grenade jump as junkrat. It's got old school sensibilities. It does so many things right that modern shooters have lost over the years.
