indicates the Wii fad is wearing off. The sales numbers between the top 2 consoles will be much closer from here on out. the Wii and PS3 will fight in Japan, Wii and 360 in NA and the Wii and who knows in the EU.

I spend beaucoup bucks on video games, and have for years, but I have never spent and probably never will spend, even one dime on Nintendo.
Why is that? Nintendo and it's games have always struck me as extremely juvenile, designed for 5 yearolds. Add to that the fact that Nintendo has decided not to join the 21st century by going with HD output.
No, if MS and Sony followed the Nintendo model, I wouldn't be video gaming at all.

Is how poorly the Wii is doing in software sales. It is the top selling console by far, yet it can only get a game to fifth place? And a distant fifth place at that?
It may well be that the Wii truly is a fad item, and that once the fad passes, so will its sales numbers. The software sales certainly indicate that although the systems may sell like hotcakes, the games sell like pickled eggs. In other words, lots of people getting their feet wet, but damn few diving in.
