of why either MS or Toshiba would be interested in this (never mind that the rumor has been debunked). The idea is to get more HD-DVD players sold right? Then why would they want to make a special 360 that would have to cost 3 or 4 or 5 hundred dollars months from now, when Toshiba and others will have sub-$200 dollar players in the stores before christmas? are you aware that Costco has the Premium 360 bundled with Forza 2, Marvel Alliance, an extra wireless controller and battery packs and charger for $399? And of course it is backwards compatible with 385 Xbox games. Not bad if your looking for a christmas gift, or want to jump in yourself. Come on, just do it. You know you want to.

IF (big if there) the PS3 and 360 continue to sell at that rate (which Nasim an others seem to think is wonderful) it will take the PS3 something over 6 years to catch up with the 360's sales. By then, who cares?
earlier this week that said 70% of Wii buyers play the Wii Sports that came with the console for a couple of weeks to a month, then put the Wii away never to be used again. The reason for it's high sales numbers is that it's this year's "must have" fad.

are not out yet. The week before, the PS3 sold almost 20000 fewer consoles than the 360. The sales numbers showing the results with the 40gb SKU should be available in a couple of days.

PS3 owners aren't going to buy it. It's a shooter. The game type they spend 90% of their time ragging on.
