Where is the creativity? Let me ask you, if games like Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 did not reinvent the genre, why does KZ2 have to? What makes Halo 3 or Call of Duty 4 so much more creative than Killzone 2? If anything, the sheer atmosphere and environment is far more creative than anything in either Halo or Call of Duty. Not to mention the Helghast are far more menacing and interesting enemies than the goofy looking Covenant in Halo 3. Why do these games get a free pass and are simply recogni...
Games like KZ2, MGS4, Uncharted, Little Big Planet, ect are possible on the PS3, yet Valve continually finds excuses not to want to work on the system. Despite all of their whining about how hard it is to work with, all of these other devs have dove right in and have produced some truly fantastic games. Yet Valve could not even be bothered to make a port of the Orange Box, so they had EA do it. Not to mention, here we are, STILL waiting on that Half-Life 3 while they are continuing to milk th...
Not only do you not mention the multiplayer, you even are so bold to insert blatant racism into the review. The game deserves to be knocked because there are no asians in the game? Really? Sorry, but that really only makes YOU racist when viewed in broader and proper perspective. Furthermore, the fact that you have the sheer audacity to say that all of the other reviews from far more established sources than yourself are wrong if they gave this game a good grade only serves to prove that you,...
Good thing opinions vary then, aye? Yours is just one of many, just like mine. Therefore, whether you think my argument is "weak" or not is irrelevant on the broad scale of things. Fact is, neither you or I know how many 360 owners were PS2 owners as well, so I suppose your assumptions are just as "weak" as mine in that regard, huh?
Nevertheless, I still wager that the Playstation crowd will give the demo a better reception than what we have seen from the 3...
FYI, I said the criticisms was coming from people who played the 360 version BECAUSE that is the only version out, lol. Further, my reference was to 360 only owners who may not have been PS2 owners who are familiar with RE4. I came to this conclusion not based on any sort of bias, as I own both a 360 and PS3 as well, lol. I came to it, rather, by my finding it hard to believe that anyone who loved RE4 would hate or be complaining about RE5 controls. As they control exactly the same, given the...
All of the harsh criticisms are coming from folks who played the game on Xbox 360, most of which I am willing to bet either never played RE4 on the GC or the PS2, or are simply not huge fans of certain gameplay elements that are what makes RE what it is. Either that, or they just do not understand why certain gameplay elements in the game are the way they are.
That being said, I am willing to wager that there will be a MUCH different, and far more positive reception to the game...
Unless he is just putting up a smokescreen of course. It is rather obvious from reading his comments that he thinks it is just another shooter for the most part. He mentioned that he liked COD 4 better, and said there was nothing genre defining about it, but it was still a fun game. One user asked him if it was the AAA game we are all expecting it to be, and he answered with, " It was not the overall package I was hoping for." He even said he struggled to remember the last PS3 game ...
Excuse me, but I have read the books. I am quite aware that this game does not follow canon with the classes they have implemented. You know what? I do not care because I simply find it FUN to play, regardless of it's flaws or lack of being 100% true to the Tolkien trilogy. Sorry you do not like it, but please do not just blindly assume that someone cannot be familiar with the source material if they happen to find this game fun. Thanks.
Replying in the manner he chose to only serves to illustrate that he is no better than all of the individuals who were posting insults. Which, in my opinion, shows him to be just as much of a 'fanboy' as the rest of them. What's worse though, is that more than likely the majority of those posters who were insulting him were a bunch of juveniles, yet he is so insecure that he feels compelled to defend himself from a bunch angry kids on the internet with a profanity laced diatribe, lol? If he h...
Maybe it is just me, but I have not experienced any lag whatsoever with this game. I have the PS3 version by the way. Every match I have played has ran smooth as can be, and I have Comcast internet.
Not everything has to be like Gears of War or Halo. That is precisely the thing this game has going for it....the fact that it is not a shooter. It is something DIFFERENT for a change.
Personally, I find it extremely addictive online, despite the flaws. The single player was not much to write home about, but it is enough to get you familiar with each class for the multiplayer. Once you start to get into the flow of it and get a feel for the classes, it becomes very fun and qui...
God, what a great looking Star Wars game. Battlefront with an actual good story as well? Lucas Arts are idiots if they do not see to it that this gets finished by someone and released pronto.
Just think, if Free Radical would not have wasted so much time and resources on squeezing out the turd that was Haze and instead focused on making this a stellar production, maybe they would still be around. Perhaps we would have one of the better Star Wars games just right around the corn...
This guy plays video games for a living, and he complains that he recieved an updated review copy of one of the years hottest titles? Boo Hoo, you have to play one of the years most highly anticipated releases for a second time....what a chore.
If anything, Guerrilla deserves points for trying to make sure the final version is as polished as possible, which is why they sent you another review copy. This is actually a good sign.
So, just do your 'job', and judge...
This is one of those games that has that 'it's obviously good' vibe. What will be a shame, however, is if fanboyism within the media rears it's head and certain reviewers decide to nit-pick and go out of their way to dock it for the tiniest of 'perceived' flaws merely because it is a PS3 game. Even though we see time and time again, games like Halo 3 get free passes and score AAA across the board because of the name it carries alone, while all of the faults simply get swept under the rug. Tha...
The gameplay looks fluid and tight in terms of both the ground and air combat, and the game overall really seems to have a sort of fresh, different vibe to it. The story sounds rather good as well. I think this will sneak up on a lot of folks and be a real sleeper.
I have seen the "alternate 2" setting for the controls, which has zoom set to L1, while pressing R3 is set to melee. Crouch is set to L2, fire R1, grenade R2, reload square, X jump, triangle set to cover, circle use/pick up, d-pad select weapons and items. Seems like a perfect set up to me.
Regardless, there will be different control setups on offer, and the above is just one example that I personally think is about perfect. However, not everyone can be satisfied, I s...
The attention to detail is simply incredible. Talk about polishing a game with a fine tooth comb. Just wow. I will probably spend a good couple of hours getting blown to pieces because I will just be panning the camera with my jaw on the floor, marveling at the fine, intricate details popping out everywhere.
If Sony does not make this the official trailer, and invest big bucks in primetime tv spots with it, then it will be their loss. As this has 'sold' written all over it.
I do not care what anyone says, and there has been a lot of hate for the demo. I personally think the multiplayer is fun as hell. Something other than a shooter for a change. Cannot wait to play the campign either, the evil campign specifically.
Creativity is in the eye of the beholder, my friend, and if you think Halo 3 was any more creative than any other run of the mill shooter, then I guess that is just your personal preference, but many would disagree. I am not a "Sony fanboy" by the way either, as I also own and love the 360, despite having an admitted preference for the PS3. (Angeloftheblack is my gamercard)
Anyway, acording to your logic, I could also say that only Xbox 360 fanboys are the only ones w...
