...I'll take GOW III in March, thanks.
I was not active in boycotting the game or anything hilariously futile like that, but I had resigned myself to the fact that I would not be picking this game up, mainly due to the fact that I have been burnt out on arcade shooters. However, after watching various streams of both the campaign and multiplayer, I could not deny that the game just looks like a blast...short ass campaign and all.
While I do understand the gripe PC gamers have and I in no way condone the antics of Ac...
His, "we are not saying anything" remark pretty much confirms it. We have all seen this pattern play out one too many times before. Still, I have the 360 version on pre-order and will be looking forward to playing it in January. If a PS3 version releases later with ME1 and/or additional content, I will look into picking it up then.
...because a video game not living up to your expectations is of much greater signifigance than anything else in life, right? ;-)
I remember the days when the campaign was the heart and soul of a game. Hell, it was the game. Now days, 5 hour campaigns and rehashed multiplayer first person shooter frag fests are what is considered the cream of the crop. How many rounds of capture the f*cking flag, death match, ect does it take for you to realize you are doing the same damn thing in every one of these shooters? The only difference is the weapons, gameplay and maps.
Yes, COD plays great, but it is still the...
It's sad that hardly anyone is paying any attention to this game.
....and doubters of this game are in for a very rude awakening. That is all.
Seriously, I really do not even care at this point. It is like once or twice a year we get a couple of screens with the message, "War Devil is still alive." Sorry, but I have a horde of other great games to keep up with that ARE actually releasing within the immediate future.
Just pure win and that is all that really needs to be said.
Neither the October 6th or the October 27th release dates that we have been seeing have been confirmed.
Anyone else notice that? Sega nor Obsidian have announced a hard date and are suddenly extremely quiet on this game. Now they are not even going to show it at TGS either? Delay on the way.
The run n' gun formula has just about burnt me out on shooters, but this is just about what the doctor ordered for me. Clustered, in your face grenade fests that amount to nothing more than an endless pattern of kill, die, respawn, kill, die, respawn, kill, die, respawn...ad nauseum.
This is the kind of game that requires you to strategize, give orders, scout and do recon in order to infiltrate the opposing team's or enemies base. Even the team based death match called 'Annihil...
I really enjoyed it for about the first couple of hours, but after that the been there, done that, mindless run n' gun aspects began to really show. It also has some fairly low production value and really feels like a budget, old school shooter most of the time.
That being said, the shooting feels great and there are some nifty weapons, but the veil powers really start to feel gimmicky after extended use. Not to mention that the game is a complete cakewalk.

I decided to go ahead and download it tonight and played Arkham Asylum for over 4 hours. So far so good here and I actually like the new look just fine. If there is an issue, it apparently is not very widespread and is probably very minor. Sony will get a fix out soon if such is the case.
I own a 120GB fat (I upgraded my 20GB) and love it to death. However, I eventually plan on picking up a slim for my living room. Just have to have one.
Most people look at this game and think it is just some generic third person shooter or at best, a Mass Effect knock off. However, when they actually take the time to read into it they come away quite suprised at how unique and deep the game is sounding.
Now I love my fantasy WRPGs, but the genre needs something different and fresh. Beings that this is an espionage RPG set within a realistic modern day setting, I think it more than fits the bill. This game is going to sneak up ...
What is this, like the second or third article in a day by Cnet trying to downplay the slim? Almost looks like they are being paid to trash it as much as possible. They are being so biased to the point that it reeks of desperation.
If you want to play PS2 games, buy a PS2. I hear they are pretty cheap these days. You guys wanted a price cut, well here it is...for the fat model as well.
For an article that calls people who happen to be fond of the PS3 nothing but a bunch of fanboys, the writer sure spews quite a bit of fanboy drivel himself. Pure and utter flamebait fail from the first sentence. By the way, who approves this sort of nonsense to begin with? Oh, must be the local lemming crew who thinks they are not fanboys despite the fact they actually endorse laughable pieces of epic fail such as this, lol.
Why on earth are you complaining that it got a 9.2? How in the hell is a 9.2 an unfair score? Good god.
