Before Titanfall, when's the last time the Game Informer cover was how we all learned of a new IP? Feels like a long long time...
xcom, uncharted, brothers: tale of two sons...
dude doesn't just put a ds4 there for reference; he knows what he's doing. and i very much like what he's doing...
free with PS+ would be epic

half-life 3 confirmed!
remember when the PS3 ran Linux? not technically inconceivable that a playstation could actually run SteamOS and be a steambox as well...
the AC4 one is interesting; you can basically get a PS4 + season pass edition at normal price: $60 for PS3 bundle + $10 upgrade - $10 amazon credit.
isn't this the sort of PR hedging that typically precedes some announcement on <1080p resolution or <60fps? so much of microsoft's 'cloud' story hinges on this title. if it goes anything like BF4 or Simcity, etc., things could get ugly... i've got my fingers crossed on this being an awesome new franchise in the world. but can't help but feel a little nervous
a woman was the head of the fireflies after all
Tess wins. I still don't believe how she gets bit when she is clearly the bigger badass of the Joel/Tess pair...
we can all blame the wii and our millions of grandmas and toddlers for going nuts over them wii sports. that game singlehandedly sent the entire gaming industry in a weird waggly twilight zone for the past 7 years... it was certainly a fun phenomenon at the time. but alas, we're still paying the price for those old bowling and boxing matches...
IW's COD being stuck at 720p certainly did not bode well for Respawn (IW 2.0) and their ability to get past the 720p wall. Will developer's growing familiarity with the X1 keep up with the momentum in making games bigger and more complex? It would be a huge disappointment if playing Titanfall on an actual X1 felt like playing a slightly prettier 360 game (as COD did). I'm sure the PC version will be cool, but the gamepad and couch preferring crowd might have a hard time there, too...
definitely some of the best graphics of the last gen. an interesting trick to letterbox the screen to allow for a lower resolution, but higher quality and more cinematic visual. i think the order 1886 might be employing a similar technique
sorry, but I'm very much in the camp that was disappointed by beyond. its story was a hot mess of middlebrow melodramatic straight to dvd writing... quantic showed so little confidence in the audience for that game; and in a way, they also didn't really have a lot of confidence in itself, resorting to adding in tropes from other genres for really no discernable reason... despite our supposed ability to make choices, jodie's character was so ultimately one dimensional, and her mot...
a different kind of butthurt
what a year. gonna have to add another dozen or so titles to the 2014 backlog... thanks for posting. might have to check out that site again some time
microsoft gets a cut of every xbox game that ships/sells. they get nada on pc (except for the one time purchase of windows itself). pretty simple. there's a reason they built a console in the first place back when instead of just pushing PC gaming harder...
i don't think you realize how precisely you just described many of today's free to play games right there:
