Terraria was a smash hit that sold millions of copies made by a small-time indie dev. Why was it so successful?

One price, full game with continuous updates after release. Terraria was getting new content for over a year after release. No microtransactions. No lootboxes. No extra fees. Indie dev just had a vision of fun and tried to realize that vision.

Gamers flocked to it because that's what gamers want. That's how you appeal to the masses and m...

I think the EA should listen to these analysts. I'm serious.

Because if they raise prices in response to gamer's criticism that will be the final nail in the coffin. This game will sink like the titanic and maybe, just maybe, game studios will start to pull their heads out of their asses and stop with the microtransactions, lootboxes, endless grinding, and start making games fun again instead of looking at gamers as a resource to be harvested with their pay models. ...

Kudos to Belgium for daring to call a duck a duck.

Hopefully we can get this common-sense law in the United States too.

Remake the 3rd one and release it in the US!

LOL

That's me laughing at myself. If it's really five years from release then the gaming PC I built to play Star Citizen won't ever see the final release of the game. I don't mind a 5 year wait though as long as we get a quality product. Good games take time to make.

I'm thinking my next gaming PC will have a Ryzen based APU (doesn't exist yet, but hopefully it will). I like playing PC games but I want something power efficient. 80...

I'm hoping they release some new IP's. Looking forward to what they come up with.

About the passwords and save file thing: I owned a Super Famicom and it couldn't play certain US games, like Capcom games (Donkey Kong Country just would not work at all) but other US games would partially work.

One of my favorite SNES games is Sky Blazer. Very fun beat-em-up. It worked 99% perfect in my Super Famicom. The one part of the game that did not work was the part where you save your game. To save your game, a checkerboard would appear on the screen filled wit...

Back when I would browse the Playstation Store on my Ps3, I saw Vita games I wanted to download and play. One of them was called something like "Holy Crap, Badman! What did I do to deserve this?" where you built up a dungeon full of monsters. It looked neat. But I didn't have a Vita. I couldn't understand why Sony would lose out on sales by not allowing the Ps3 to play Vita games. I don't play games on the go, and didn't want to drop $ on a Vita that I would never us...

EA: "Pffft. No it won't take 40 hours to unlock everything! That's just ridiculous!"
Fanboys: "Thanks, EA! We knew we could count on you!"

LOLOLOLOLOL

At least EA stood by what they said!

If I made a game, I would make all the females look cute too.

Anyone who doesn't like it can stick their opinion where the Sun doesn't shine (to quote the author of that article).

I'm looking forward to 2077 but I'm tempering my expectations because I've been disappointed with hype before. However CDPR has a good track record when it comes to games so I'm hoping it turns out well.

I'm expecting a good game, but I expect there will be flaws too. I'm trying not to read much about it because I don't want to go in with a list full of promises like with No Man's Sky.

Maybe snowflakes shouldn't play video games so their delicate little feelings don't get hurt?

Is this a sequel to Star Trader: Merchant Marine? I will probably get this one too. I'm surprised they went with turn based tactical combat instead of FPS combat like in Merchant Marine. I like the idea of ship to ship combat though.

That's the first thing I was thinking. I want a TRUE sequel to Super Mario RPG! Not another paper mario title!

Microsoft did do this ages ago. Games owned by Microsoft:

Age of Empires
Rise of Nations
Freelancer
Black and White
Conker
Perfect Dark

When was the last time you saw any of those?

IP's go to Microsoft to die slow, painful deaths.

That they're suddenly interested in making games again is a joke. Given their history, I don't expect it to last long. In a year or t...

No console can close the gap. It's impossible. Consoles are called such because they can't be upgraded like a desktop computer can.

This whole article is ridiculous and is turning xbots into trollbait because they're likely kids who don't understand computer technology.

LOL no.

One X CPU: 8 core 2.3ghz
AMD Ryzen Threadripper: 16 core 3.4ghz

One X GPU: 6 TFLOPS
AMD RX Vega: 12 TFLOPS

You can always stick more RAM in a desktop. The One X is stuck with 12gb.

The One X comes with a rotating rust HDD. Even the Nintendo Switch has moved into the modern era with all solid state storage. Have fun with those load times, Xbox gamers.

This is ridiculous. No ...
