To be fair bots as a single player mode isn't a new thing. I played the hell out of Battlefield 1942 back in the day when I didn't have an internet connection. It had no campaign mode, just bots. I still had fun.
Yes we should rain fire down on EA for the loot box controversy, but I'm not going to hold the lack of a single player campaign against them if what they want to do is make a multiplayer game.
It's not the end of the world either!...

I love GOG and I hope they make themselves a home for visual novels, especially ones with a little fan service.
It looks like Steam is going to regulate itself to death. On one hand they can't stop the influx of cheap crap games and unfinished games, on the other hand they crack down on legit games because of fan service. It's kind of sad to watch.
I think it's a great metric and I wish GOG and Steam used it on their games. I'm sick and tired of paying $ for crap games with no substance and feeling ripped off.
I would love to see B&W and B&W 2 available on GOG.
I still have my discs, but they don't work with Windows 10 as far as I can tell.
IMO the first one is better. But that's just me. In the first you could pretty much ignore your creature and gain all your power through population, sacrifices, and miracles. The creature island expansion focused more on the creature, and they continued with that idea in the sequel.

The original Tomb Raiders depicted a busty Laura. The new PC Laura is practically flat.
I have no interest playing a non-bodacious babe.
Cheat like a bastard. The game files can be edited in any old text editor, so you can cheat like it's 1999!
You even get trophies if you cheat. I like that. I modded the resale price of stuff to be 9 times the sales price, and got a trophy for 10 million C-bills right after the first mission by buying and selling ammo. It made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I like being recognized for my accomplishments!
Also if you're going to speed up the horrib...
I mostly agree with your list but personally I liked Destiny 1 better at launch than I did after they added some of the expansions. I lost interest after a few expansions.
The one expansion that had ghostly enemies spawning everywhere at random was particularly obnoxious. Areas where I was grinding for loot suddenly became less profitable because the monster spawns would change.
I liked the story because the lore was fantastic but most of the expansions f...
I can tell you why I never bought a Wii U. I hate gimmicky controllers. I hated the motion controls on the Wii and when I saw the Wii U was going to have a touchscreen it was an instant dealbreaker. Motion controls suck, but touchscreens are even worse.
When the Switch showed us normal controllers again, and had a classic controller? I plan on getting one. It's going to be awesome.
I wish I had the $300 to spend right now, but I don't. It's on...
Absolutely false, and this op-ed was written by a biased stooge.
Nintendo has to release specifications to the market for these third-parties to make compatible docks. These third party docks are purchased by consumers with the expectation that they will function adequately, and that's a perfectly reasonable expectation.
If Nintendo changes their OS in such a way that it bricks systems using a compatible dock, that is entirely NIntendo's fault, an...
I liked Borderlands 1, but 2 had way too much teenage level toilet humor. A lot of it seemed shoe-horned in for no reason. Lots of cringe-worthy dialog and cutscenes.
I would like them to cut back on the humor a little bit, and take the setting more seriously.
I don't mean do a complete 180, it is Borderlands after all. Lots of crazies. But just cut it back a little. If 3 is even more immature than 2 I'm probably not going to play it.
Thank you, one smart person!
Obvious result was obvious.
I can't believe people didn't see this coming. The dislikes on your post must be salty day 1 buyers.
As I said in above posts, Open World PvP isn't a new thing. Ganking isn't a new thing. When they announced an Open World PvP game where up to 4 players could team up on one boat - this result was obvious.
Has anyone here played EVE before? The standby form of ganking in EVE is the gate camp. What do gate campers do? They group up (up to a d...
The underlying problem can't be addressed. Not with the way they designed teaming up. If an MMO allows the potential for ganking, then gankers are going to gank. If a team of 4 players can group up on one boat, they're going to prey on smaller groups of players because they know they're at an advantage.
If every player was a lone captain of their own ship, it would reduce the ganking a little. Especially if the instancing only allowed two ships to meet at a time...
When they announced it would have team-based PvP instead of every player as a lone captain of their ship, I knew it wasn't going to be fun.
It should have been obvious. There's always going to be a team of gankers out there that will outnumber you. Open world games with group PvP always lead to ganking. That's pretty much a law of MMO's.
Lesson to be learned: Don't let hype bait you into a day 1 buy. Wait it out next time.
I agree the Wii U was a learning experience for Nintendo. I hated the Wii's motion controls and absolutely refused to buy the new console with the touchscreen.
I have mixed feelings about the joycons. They don't look ergonomic at all, and the first thing I'll get for my Switch (it will be my next console) will be a classic controller. However I'm glad it's just thumbsticks and buttons. That's all a good controller should be.

Bullshit. There's no such thing as "too many ports"
Nintendo launched a stellar console and they're providing support for it. Apparently that makes the haters hate it even more. Too bad for you.
It will. At first.
Then they will cut it from the redesign and you'll be floating down shit creek.
But you'll buy the Ps6 anyway.
Until they decide to kill off BC in the new redesign of the Ps5 for reasons.
My launch 60gb Ps3 died and I have a Ps3 slim now and a catalog of Ps2 games I can't play anymore. BC wasn't the only feature of my Ps3 that got axed. I liked OtherOS functionality as well.
Which is why I don't buy Sony anymore.
As bad as Steam is right now, it would only get worse under Microsoft. Ever hear of Lionshead Studios or Digital Anvil? They don't exist today. They were purchased by Microsoft years ago and have been laid down to die.
Warzone 2100 and Expendable are both under-rated Ps1 games that I rarely see people ever mention. Had a lot of fun playing both back in the day.
