I own both systems and I love my 360. Losing side?? Yea, considering it has a larger install base(year headstart or not) and has very profitable software with a far superior online community.

I think they've cared in that they wanted to have the bulletpoint on the box, but not beyond that. Same reason why I don't think we are going to see a BR add-on for the 360.
MS just needs to price accordingly to what they offer.

MS knew HD was growing, they knew Sony's plan but also were familiar with how inferior Blu-ray was at the time the 360 was being designed. Heck, they still haven't got their spec down yet and are still catching up to what HD-DVD offered. So MS picked the best format and finished format at the time, simple as that. Having Blew-ray backed by Sony also was something I don't think MS wanted to allie itself with(or vice versa).

Considering that Sony is supposed to be the market leader and they have both the PS1 and PS2 under it's belt with 120mil install base from last gen.
Is that really cause for celebrating that it beat it by 4 months when the 360 is the second console they've done with the Japanese completely writing off both? And then the early death of the Xbox1 due to patent problems with Nvidia didn't give it any legs compared to PS2.

Xbox Live Arcade and PSN titles, that is a difference between the 2. Live Arcade offers a demo for every single game. PSN doesn't.
You can even configure your Xbox to auto-download the demos so you can have them to try and then upgrade from within the trial to the full version if you want.

How is this hyped at all? MS has no control over these websites who will say anything to get hit's. If you ask me the community hypes this stuff up more than MS.
I don't think it's going to be very long at all before we see cheaper than PS3 Blu-ray players readily available and upgradeable. That may negate the "I want Blu-ray so I'm getting a PS3" factor. It will still appeal to those that want to game and want Br support but the videophiles will go with the stand alone.
It's not like MS didn't say right from the start that if Blu-ray was chosen as the format they would support it.
I say this too much, but at the time when the 360 launched HD-DVD was the leader in tech/quality, etc. MS gambled on that decision but they weren't willing to gamble enough so they made an add-on. If MS had decided to include an HD-DVD in their system and launched at the same time we would be having a very different conversation right now.

MS needs to focus on separating their prices from Sony. Perceived value is the key and the 360 doesn't need to have a Br add-on, it needs to be a cheaper than PS3 gaming machine. As of now, when people look at the specs of the PS3 vs 360 and then look at the minuscule price difference(the 40gig is even cheaper than the Elite) than it is a no brainer to buy a PS3.
