This article's results were padded by sales; like that makes an exclusive good or not. They make it look like the PS3 and 360 are neck and neck in terms of exclusives.

"When it is all said and done it looks pretty even." My @ss it does.

360 won:
* "Had most exclusives in the year" (padded by Kinect, Arcade, and 30-40% rated games)
* "Had the highest total exclusive sales in the year" (sales #s)

"This listing was ended by the seller because the item was sold."

It didn't sell for $20,100. The auction was ended early. Either it didn't sell at all because it doesn't exist, he got a nice message from Microsoft's lawyers, or someone contacted him and said, hey, end it now and I'...

@Surfaced
Disagreed with it being a good ad for PlayStation IMO, even though you make some good points near the end. Maybe it did appeal to older demographics in the UK.

You're right Apple's 1984 has nothing to do with the product, but is still regarded as being an iconic ad.

Baby was prelaunch.. it showed the console itself coming soon. How is showing the product not showing the product?

Resistance: Fall of Man is also in the baby's eyes as they light up in awe.. as far as games goes for that particular commercial. Obviously that's not too clear, but it's also not a commercial for RFoM, it's for the console launch.

Rubik's Cube is about the Cell processing power, Eggs shows off Sixaxis controls, Ooze shows gam...

The PS3 Baby Commercial doesn't belong anywhere near #8 on an all-time worst video game commercials list. It's a pretty damn good commercial. It's just too deep for most people who can't think beyond "omg creepy baby", "now i wont sleep ima scared of Chucky".

Here's the comment I had on the YouTube video. It was the highest rated for a while (+42 currently) and probably the first sensible one.

"now Team OBJECTIVES will be decided by a round of Deathmatch"

You are retarded Naughty Dog. (as far as you making an "Objectives" mode goes)

Plunder is a great objectives mode (besides boosters). Your Objectives mode sucks since it's all Deathamtch variants and has little to nothing to do with Objectives. It's just straight deathmatch and zones-type localized deathmatch.

@torchic
"an inFamous "HD" collection? for what?"

Judging from basically every other collection / dual pack, they're trying to sell through stock of relatively ugly red greatest hits versions of these games.

GoW Origins is a voucher code. I'd be very surprised if this is a real collection (with new or at least original boxes) and not just the greatest hits versions with a pretty cardbox box slipcover to form the 'collec...

Their 3rd reason is pretty dumb. You didn't like how it was marketed? What does that have to do with the game itself?

Here are 2 others:
*Added more boosters (as far as I can remember compared to UC2) - They are lame and anti-competitive, especially those bonus ones with like 800 grenades and stupid crap like that; shouldn't be in Competitive gameplay. Put it as optional in custom matches if you want.

*"Objectives" mode has rounds of...

@Mason - I think you should have came up with the full $1000 (in today's money) though, that sounded like the main point to the article. Throw in what games you'd buy, or accessories, or an arcade machine, etc.

For my list, I was going to go with a bigger TV with 7.1 surround sound, but that would be pretty much all the money after getting the system and I'd be stuck playing Dragon Age in 7.1 surround sound for $1000. So I just went with the Sony 24". Pretty ...

If I only had ~$1000, I'd buy this:

PlayStation 24" 3D Display, 240hz, Simulview, w/ 3D glasses, HDMI cable, MotorStorm: Apocalypse. $199 FS at Newegg and other places.

PS3 2500 series with Dragon Age $180

He only 'spent' like £300 and got a bunch of old trash by today's standards.

This is the TV he suggested: A 14" Ferguson?

If the goal is the best £1000, why did he only spend ~£300?

I hated CoD due to the multiplayer being anti-competitive with killstreak rewards handing out free or easier unearned kills. The low shots to kill favors campers and noob tubers; and puts very little focus on headshots or the ability to maintain your aim on a target. Etc. In short, the multiplayer is unskilled, uncompetitive.

That is why I think Resistance: Fall of Man had/has the best, most competitive multiplayer. Besides a few weapons like the LAARK, 40mm, Bullseye tag, pr...

I was going to say almost the exact same thing as Persistant.. so Well Said.

Also, it's doubtful someone wants every game on your account. I might only want like 6 of those games and only be willing to pay like $50 for them.. nowhere near $782.

OneAbove has a good point too though. You can't underestimate some of the stupidity out there, so it's possible.

Please don't make this "best" budget version an ugly greatest hits label like Heavy Rain's best version (Director's Cut w/ DLC, soundtrack, etc. on disk, but not available in Black Label).

Edit: looks like it's also a patch for the regular version, which should have been obvious, but still, I'd rebuy a slightly better version of the game with everything on the disk.

I had 4 or 5 YLODs on 60GB fattys, all suspiciously about 13 months apart, but still have a PS3. Finally went with a ~2500 series and haven't had any issues yet. I'll very likely get a 4000 series if it's smaller, more energy efficient (pretty much a given), and has wireless N.

Agreed on Assassin's Creed. I missed that, because I have it on the Revelations disk. I missed CoD4 trophies also.. Those ~10 should cover all the early trophyless games that I'd be willing to go back to plat.
