Perfectly fine with me, it would just add more to my backlog. Hopefully the campaign is great with all the focus being put toward it. It's already on my watch list.

For Assassin's Creed you only have to look at some of their trailers to see it could be made into a pretty awesome movie. Some of the trailers are very cool short films.

Sony is still on pace to finish this generation in 'first place' in terms of hardware sales; unlike the 'third place finish' the article mentions.

They have already 'won' this generation in terms of quantity and quality of full retail exclusives.

The PS3 is likely to surpass the 360 in hardware sales within a few months, if not about April 2013 at the latest when GoW: Ascension, Beyond: Two Souls, etc. release.

After t...

I agree that all DLC isn't bad.

If it's made after the game was completed and the game wasn't pre-planned to have DLC, therefore shipping a known incomplete product, it's fine.

I've only bought 2 DLCs. The Resistance: Fall of Man map packs back when they released in 2007 (they've now been free since somewhere in 2008).

I also hate preorder bonuses, especially when they are split between different stores. This is again ...

"I love America and wish more things were made here instead of Japan or China." & "Buy American"

FYI - Just because Microsoft is an American company, doesn't mean their products are made in the USA. Xbox 360s are made in China.

Dumb articles still equating iPhone to Smartphone?

They're not aware Androids outsell iPhones? And play the same/similar games? How would iPhones be a potential cause when Androids sell over 4x as many units?

Recent worldwide figures:

— Android (Google Inc.) — 104.8 million units, 68.1 percent share (46.9 percent a year earlier)

— iOS (Apple Inc.'s iPhone) — 26.0 million units, 16.9 percent share (18.8 percent a year ...

"but right now it’s outselling Wii and PS3 monthly"
(from article description above)

False, not outselling the PS3. In the US, sure. Worldwide, no.

PS3 is the highest selling home console the past 40 straight weeks, including every week in 2012.

Yes, that's Gran Turismo 4, not Gran Turismo Orbis.

There will be a PlayStation 4. The home console brand is plenty strong and well known enough to overcome any 3rd grade "OMG 8's bigger than 4" talk.

You mention the Vita deviating for the traditional naming scheme. And how exactly did that work out for the Vita?

Did Vita work better than PSP2 vs. the 3DS? Nope. It (the Vita) ...

@ Larry - read speeds

http://forum.beyond3d.com/s...

All the information I can find looks like the PS3's disk has a faster read speed than a 360 Dual layer (DVD9) disk that the ME games are printed on.

That link and other research I did show that the PS3's read speed is a "Constant Linear Velocity (Same speed across entire disk)" of 9MB/s, while the ...

ME2 and ME3 are also smaller on PS3 than on 360 due to the 360 needing to have basic files on multiple disks:

If pcps3's numbers are correct:
"mass effect 3 is 13gb on ps3
mass effect 2 is 11gb on ps3"

And if this site is correct for 360 install sizes:

"mass effect 3 is 13gb on ps3
mass effect 2 is 11gb on ps3
mass effect 1 on pc is 7gb"

pcps3 already listed the PS3 sizes of two of the 3 games. Even if they tripled the entire ME1 and made it 21GB, they'd still fit.

21 + 11 + 13 = 45GB

I doubt ME1 would need to be almost bigger than ME2 & 3 combined. It's more likely that the 7GB would be raised to 9GB or 10GB (if at all), so:

No list of the games used in the comparison to call BS or point out any missing titles makes the comparison pretty useless.

Looks to be including PSN/XBLA games, Kinect (extra hardware) exclusives, and 'also on PC' games.

Did they include 360/PS2 games in the first year? No criteria makes it useless no matter which side you're coming at this.

Your math doesn't make any sense. Where do you come up with it peaking at 11.6mil? The PS3's only been out ~5 1/2 years. It looks like you just took its total amount sold and divided by the number of years, because it would have to have sold at your peak number the full 5 1/2+ years to hit its 60+ mil sold to date.

vgchartz has this, which looks much more legitimate than your number:
2006 - 1.25mil
2007 - 7.95mil
2008 - 10.27mil
2009 - ...

60GB PS3 launched at $599, so you spent $50 more for an opened display model, not $50 less.

@Derk

Not just Angry Birds level games. PS2 remasters on PS3 are already 1080p native from their original ~480. So they could make PS2 quality games at 2160p, even some basic PS3 quality games (like NBA 07 / Virtua Tennis level that were 1080p native on PS3).

Who doesn't want to play their old favorites or similar level games at better quality? (not saying NBA 07 is an 'old favorite' of anyone btw)

Would it be enough for me person...

@derk

Full retail games will mostly be 1080p 60fps, yea, but PSN-like games could easily support 4k2k (2160p). Just like most retail games are 720p give or take now, but a lot of PSN games are 1080p native. So I don't see what's delusional about it. Pictures, video - movies/youtube, and PSN games.
