I know what you mean! I forgot how epic God of War was until just recently. I saw that Ascension was releasing soon, so I picked up the GOW Saga and replayed through them all... such amazing games. I honestly don't think I've played a series with so many, truly epic moments! Ascension is going to be stunning, that's for sure.
By the Gods... I can't wait for this game.
You're missing... a lot. Simply put, play at least 1, 2, and 3. Brotherhood and Revelations can be summed up on the internet. I mean, if you're interested in the game after the first two, then by all means play Brotherhood and Revelations. The story is quite convoluted, so skipping ahead to this upcoming one would be quite confusing.
I feel like the majority of the time spent with AC3 was building the AnvilNext engine. I could be wrong, but the climbing, fighting, and overall physics for AC3 were pretty much different from all the others. So maybe they spent like, 2 years developing the engine, then another year or so on the actual game.
I've seen worse trailers, and this one is obviously well done, but what I really need to see is this game in action. I don't want Assassin's Creed to turn into Call of Duty... take your time Ubisoft! Make something special, not something repetitive.
God of War: Ascension, Tomb Raider, Bioshock: Infinite. And, if my PC wasn't complete garbage, SimCity.
It needs to either drop the IV, or drop the 'Black Flag.' I don't like the whole number AND a subtitle thing... it feels dirty.
I think the advantages of this new direction are that now, even though everyone says they hate advertisements, it allows Sony to advertise much more efficiently. And if their whole 'predict what the gamer wants to buy' thing actually works, it could lead to gamers getting the content they want faster.
The other big advantage is that this setup looks very much like a touchscreen friendly space. So, if Sony releases an app for Android and iPhone, it'll feel like it&...
Maybe we'll actually be able to use the browser in-game for guides and whatnot! That'd be neat.
I like the Knack spoilers in there lol. "Gundahar defeated!"
On topic: The layouts looks sleek, modern, and easy to navigate. Very nice!
The only one that I actually agree with, besides the positives obviously, is Sony using Ustream over TwitchTV. Twitch is getting pretty big, and I have hardly ever, EVER, used Ustream. But we'll see if that changes with the PS4.
My biggest problem with AnvilNext was framerate that dipped a lot during intense moments i.e, during explosions and huge battles.
I thought it felt plenty epic! Plus it's a demo, can't put the most amazing moments there, have to save some for the full game. Love the new grappling and weapon system as well.
Naughty Dog is a brilliant dev, as is Media Molecule. Uncharted really disappointed me, but I understand its' significance within the gaming industry. LBP is easily one of my favorite games this generation. MM knows how to make a fun game. The being said, however, it is likely that I won't get MM's new game unless the PS4 ships with a Move kit.
'Hells yeah!'-I remember these commercials :D
Will the games be available day one through Gaikai? Because if you could buy them, then just stream them to your console without a massive download, that'd be neat.
From fans, I've heard bad things about Diablo III. Despite the general praise from critics... I don't know what to believe!! It's making the decision of whether to get this or not with a PS4 difficult.
I totally agree. I mean, yeah we get some nice games as well, and PS+ is definitely worth it. But MGS HD and ME3?? They also go Batman Arkham City a while back! I would love to get those games for free...
Though, Vanquish is quite a nice game. Sleeper-hit if you ask me.
@newmonday
SO MUCH ABBREVIATION!!!
I get what you're saying though, and I agree :D
I love digital downloads. Hell, about half of my games are digital. But with games getting more and more complex, the file sizes just keep getting bigger. Uncharted 3 is 43.5 gigs! That's nuts. So, unless my ISP gets higher speeds and allows larger downloads, I'll stick with physical for those huge games.
Plus, an advantage of physical is box art. I love me some box art! :D
