As I said in my comment bellow (that I wrote before reading yours). Nintendo knows its fanbase. They know sales will change little to nothing charging 40 or 60.
I understand the point but I can only agree partialy. Games are cheaper than ever. We paid $50 or $60 to a NES game in the 80s. That's expensive.
But look at Nintendo side: they know it's fanbase. They know selling this game for $60 ou $40 will make little to no difference in the total sales. So why charge less? I can't see a reason.
Crash N'Sane Trilogy, that the author used as an exemple, needed to reach users that are a lot less loyal t...
It's a perfect game for Gamepass. Short, bad and cheap.
In the end you're defending Activision and Kotick. =D
It's not that simple. You can make a company with the objective to grow and expand, trying to make the best for employers and customers. You see this kind of company in Japan and Europe. Even in US pre 80s we had that.
But Activision choose to be a money factory for shareholders. That's an option. And they hire CEOs to acomplish that.
This is how free market capitalism works. Kotick is doing great as a CEO, making a lot of value tô share holders.
Companies are made to make mkney. Employees are Just dipendable resouces.
I know it's sad but faster you undestand that faster you can flight back.
It's just business. Nintendo fans will buy any game of the Nintendo big franchises for $60. Even if it's a re-release.
Dk TF, NSMBU are exemples.
If they buy it, why cut the price?
I don't think so. The internet created a culture of being stupid is cool. They do it for free.
I'm pretty sure Switch will surpass PS4 in lifetime sales.
Best selling console since lauch and thre's no sign slowing down!
Yeah. We need to keep protecting our games from outside groups. I think Battlefield V failure is a lesson to be learned: make games for those who buy them. Stop with this racial, gender and cultural mess.
Nice number. I think Activision support to Switch allowed Crash to be a success.
How many of these 1800 are new games? I see just a lot of late releases and re-releases.
I want someone to count "day one" games on Switch thar aren't indies.
Hi.
This is just an excuse to please the fan base. But the truth is that Nintendo is having a lot of trouble to put HD games on the street since Wii U.
Even now with only one hardware to support and the unification of all teams, the lauch pace is not what it should be.
Quality is important and nobody will ever say otherwise, but not all Nintendo games are that great to say that they are only lauching those. For each Mario Odyssey and Zelda BotW we get a lot...
Mario Kart, Zelda Remaster, Mario Remaster, Metroid Remaster.
Because idiocracy needs guns.
I'm very enterteined how Steam and Steam fans are reacting to Epic's Game Store.
It's like console wars, but without consoles.
As a said before: smart move from Peter. Pet Nintendo fans and they will make your average game gold.
Yes, I agree in almost everything you said. Nintendo fans see value in some aspects that are really hard to other people understand. Buying a Zelda game is more than just buying a competent game. There's the pop culture aspect, the nostalgic aspect, the "to be part of the pack" aspect, etc.
All those are really hard to put a price tag on. But Nintendo undestand that $60 is a accetable value for those people for the whole package. But, of course, it's hard ...
