Well for me, I like what I like, no matter if it has one hundred million sold or ten units sold.
I think if the fanboys spent time on the consoles playing the games they spent so much time defending, there would be much less in the way of idiotic comments on places like this.
I'm all for discussing video games, but when you just troll and use numbers or a 0.001 better particle resolution on a multiplatform game, I agree it's a pointless thing to arg...
This is a flame bait if I ever saw one. Both games cater to different tastes and the only true way to judge them is opinion. Since we all have our own opinions, it's a losing battle to try and make people see what we see.
It's best just to leave it be. I refuse to take part in it.
I actually don't really want to see MW2 or COD4 maps on MW3. It sort of defeats the purpose, the COD4 maps in MW2 were a huge mistake because COD4 played so differently then MW2. Those maps were just a big cluster-f*&$.
I enjoyed the Call Of Duty campaigns, I don't think they are the best ever, but I admit I like the characters and story much better then Killzone.
I agree with Resistance, Gears and Halo being superior as far as campaigns go though. Killzone just didn't click for me, the characters were kind of generic and I never really got into the story or anything.
Well I cant afford a ton of games this month, but Gears Of War 3 is certainly one I've had pre ordered for many months now. I also managed to get Rise Of Nightmares as well. Dead Island looks solid, but it'll have to wait.
Again I say, just because they might release established IP's for a launch, doesn't mean there wouldn't be a new IP in the mix for the launch as well. I highly doubt we'd hear about a new IP for a new console at this point and time.
That being said, I hear a lot of complaints for new IP's and then they sell like crap. I wish people actually bought the things they said they were going to.
I have to respectfully disagree. I was all set to wait for a game I actually liked when the Xbox 360 came out, but then when I saw Gears I knew I had to have one.
A Gears Of War at launch for the next Xbox would definitely be a system seller, which is what launches are all about.
As for new IP's, they don't usually push a new console, but they might look for something from Crytek or someone like that to do an exclusive out of the gate.
Well I'll definitely buy this, I have enough room in my living room, but I also have a 360/Kinect in my bedroom, the problem is for some games I don't have enough room to use it properly their. Looks like this thing will let me use two player in that smaller space. Time to beat the wife at Dance Central!
This is a really great game if you have a Kinect. It's not perfect, but it's definitely inventive and a lot of fun to play at home in the dark!
Ya, despite what N4G regulars think about COD, it's still the most viable franchise around today. I'd expect the same thing from MW3. Probably have Black Ops and MW3 in the top 10 for a while to come.
I wonder if it will be like that old Dreamcast Bass Fishing game? I had some great times with that old game. I used to have the fishing rod and everything. I can definitely see Kinect working well with a title like this.
Rise Of Nightmares was something new, inventive and I wanted to support that so I bought it. I bought Shadow Of The Colossus years and year ago and had a great time with that game, back then it was new and inventive and I supported it.
Also, I don't recall mentioning anything about Kinect or Rise Of Nightmares, so not sure why you brought that up?
Trolls will troll I guess...
Glad to see they turned out good, but having already played them I wont be buying these. Good for people that maybe haven't gotten the chance to play these games though.
Just too many solid new games coming out to spend money on last generation games.
I'd be interested in seeing what Sledgehammer games could do with a full Modern Warfare title with a full two year development cycle. We know a lot of companies chipped in with MW3, but I think Sledgehammer Games might get to work a lot more on the next installment.
I kind of get tired of telling the people that are in here hating on COD to simply not buy it. If you ignore something it eventually goes away.
However, that being said I think people confuse...
It got a 3.5 out of 5 on Joystig and a 8 out of 10 on GamnerXchange. I would hardly call that just one good review.
I have a feeling it could have gotten an 8 from IGN and people would still be bashing it here. No worries for me though, I don't really go by reviews, if I did then I'd have missed out on some damn good games.
This review is way off base. You cant really gauge this game on the same scale as standard games. It's the first Kinect game that offers a full experience and it's not on rails.
I wouldn't compare it to something like Gears Of War or Uncharted, but it's a great first step. I am having fun with the game and I guess that's all that matters. The game overall has been getting decent reviews, this is the first really negative one I've seen.
You are trying to compare a niche game like Guitar Hero, which never sold on the level that Call Of Duty has.
They are two very different IP's. Each COD has outsold the last, so technically that is on the way up. Doesn't matter if you are personally getting it or not. It also doesn't matter if you don't like COD or not. The facts are there to support what he is claiming.
Modern Warfare 3 is outpacing Black Ops in pre orders. The formula is all...
I think if it's okay to play games set in the Civil War then a game like this should be allowed. The South among other things was fighting for the right to keep slaves. It's a part of history, like it or not.
Like you I'm not saying I condone what was done, but if we can make games where we go around killing people in an airport (No Russian) then I don't think this is too over the top.
Same goes for games like Call Of Duty. Only the minority that visits sites like this complain, the majority which is numbered in the millions will always buy it no matter what.
This is the first Madden I've bought since 2008, so I usually wait a while before I buy a new one, the demo was great, so I bought the game. It's the best Madden I've played.
If your waiting for a different NFL game aside from Madden, don't hold your breath. I did the ...
Great score. This game is a lot of fun and comes with a lot of content for only $40. Glad to see it's scoring so very well. There really is nothing else like this out on the market. Kinect is starting to hit a nice stride where software is concerned.
