I do think it is possible that development studios will stop spending the time and effort to make new single player experiences specific for the Wii (like Z&W or Dewy) if they simply don't see the potential for profit. Only time will tell on this front.

The game has sold well over one million copies worldwide and it has only been out for a few weeks in North America and Europe.
Plus, since there are still MANY people searching for a Wii worldwide (nearly 100% of whom will likely purchase SMG when they finally secure the system), the game will continue to sell tons throughout this season.

I think the last point about a global market is very valid. PS3 is doing much better in Japan and Europe now. Just because it is lagging in US behind 360 doesn't mean it's over for SONY. I think it is really picking up steam and it is too early to tell (SO many possible PS2 owners who could upgrade to PS3). It's not like SONY is going to close their doors and stop making their console no matter how bad it may look now.

on the Japanese PSN store (also for PSP). I've tried but I can't seem to get it to work. It has to synchronize with the date and time on your console and stuff. The program never seems to do that correctly. Probably because I have an American PS3.
back then games weren't reviewed by nearly as many outlets. Now we have every gaming blog on the web throwing in their two cents. So you're right, it's not a direct comparison.
Galaxy has now dropped back to number two behind OOT as they continue to aggregate more reviews. Not too shabby though.

I just sent my console in for the RROD so I have the paper right in front of me. There are also clear pictures which show nothing but the system (sans HD) being placed in the box.
So, the missing power supply and faceplate are to be expected. Annoying, but still to be expected. Hell, I had to wait two weeks just to get my UPS shipping ...
Who cares. Assasin's Creed gets some low scores and some high ones. Rent it or play it if you'd like. Obviously some reviews have had negative experiences with the game. This is usually the case with most games. This has certainly been the case with R&C, Heavenly Sword and other high profile titles.

I got a Wii right after it launched. I was lucky and was at a store right as they were unloading them from the truck. However, I have yet to see a constant stream of consoles available for purchase one year later (at least where I live in Seattle). So, I'm inclined to say that Nintendo is being honest. Whether they are creating the shortage or not is another story though...
The part with the curve and the vertical lines (Part 4) is misinterpreted. The author describes the markings over the curve as "hiragana," but in fact they are kanji.
