has a contest where they're giving away $30 PSN cards. Just find the hidden treasure chest icon!
Happy hunting.
...but given that the director of SSB BRAWL has said on the record that they have no plans for DLC, I knew it was too good to be true!
I have a PS3 for Blu-Ray and the HD-DVD drive add-on for 360. I've also bought a bunch of HD-DVDs recently because they've been heavily discounted as retailers are purging their stock.
That explains the growth in sales. Pretty soon there will be no more HD-DVDs to sell. My local Fred Meyer has sold all but only a few titles now.
...and 360 and PS3 (all hooked up to a full 1080P screen).
If I'm being honest, I do wish that Nintendo would have spent a bit more money on the system and included 720P support and digital audio. Sure it would have added some price to the console, but given that Wiis are selling like hotcakes, I really think the consumer base would have gladly paid extra to get those features.
Just a little bit more foresight and the Wii would have felt more next gen. Don't get ...
...show that the Wii is most certainly a success not only for Nintendo but also for the industry as a whole (because it's bringing in new consumers of all ages to buy software).
An argument could be made about the quality of non-Nintendo software or the lack of hardcore titles on the platform. But, either way, Nintendo is making bucket loads of money and that doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. So, I'm sure they would consider this a success.
Wait till MGS4...According to the survey conducted by Konami Japan (and posted about on Kotaku), this is the game most Japanese are waiting to by a PS3 for (sorta a no-brainer...right?).
I expect the MGS4 bundle to sell really well i Japan. I don't think it's so much a redesign of the system, but rather a constant stream of high quality games that will push system sales.
...considering Nintendo's conservative and family friendly image. I just can't honestly see them publishing and marketing this game given the controversy that has already emerged.
Plus, I doubt any game company will embrace the project, given that (no matter how the game ultimately ends up) its subject matter will almost assuredly create a firestorm in the general media.
As someone who loves single player experiences (I play online stuff too - but very little). Here's hoping that Japanese studios at least will continue to churn out the single player action / adventure games that I love to play!
...Uncharted has the achievement type things that actually lets you unlock stuff in the game (which is great). Burnout Paradise also has achievements on PS3 but they don't do anything. I have all three next-gen systems and don't care a whole lot about gamer score type stuff. That's just me.
BTW...
If any of you PS3 owners use the Japanese-only free game "Mainichi Issyo" (Everyday Together), it is sorta like a baby version of HOME. That is, you can accum...
I have a launch 360 (premium) and PS3 (60 gig)...so I know what they mean. More SKUs just confuse casual consumers and the parents who buy the the systems for their kids and families, not knowing the differences between models. Heck, I bet you people that work at Best Buy couldn't even tell you the differences between all the 360 or PS3 models.
I think this is one of the reasons why the Wii is doing so well. Everyone who buys a Wii gets the same system with the same stuff in...
All 360 had was that stupid Spiderwick Chronicles game.
Doesn't seem like 360 is getting any good demos these days either.
and I have 1080P already via a VGA cable. You can also do an optical cable for digital surround, so I don't see the huge advantage of this.
Yeah...I sat in the lobby and it doesn't work.
Tried hosting my own match too and that didn't work. Just kept kicking me out of rooms even though it said there was one person in it.
Fun game...NOT!!!!! Sure gonna be on the top of my wish list.
I downloaded the demo, but when I try to install in on the PS3 it comes back with an error message.
???
...to look at global sales as an indication for how well a given system is doing and not just focus on one territory.
If you go by most of the US gaming press, PS3 is in lots of trouble.
While it is true that 360 sells better than PS3 in America, these statistics at least show that the PS3 is doing just fine worldwide.
As long as conventional news outlets portray games as toys for kids that should not contain stories, emotions, or scenarios that parody and comment on real life, there will be a problem.
The real issue is that games are no longer toys for children yet they are definitely still perceived in the mass media to be such. To the Fox News reporters, 10 year olds are playing Mass Effect on their NES.
In reality, games are now a major hobby, quickly displacing films in popul...
As well as the Japan store. So now there are two places to download it...plus on 360.
should be set in the future with Mario as an old man and the kingdom in ruins. Just like in these screens.
...the pic they show of the monster doesn't really look much like the creature from the film. The monster in the movie is actually sorta hard to describe. The face does look like a chimera from Resistance mixed with big red frog air sacks.
what subsection you're in. Once you click on something like say "add-ons" it takes you to a new page, but there's no subheading to tell you what new menu you're in.
It's mainly a problem now because all the images don't work...so it's hard to tell what you're actually navigating.
