First time for everything. Pretty good podcast for the first time, I think.
If anyone has seen Avatar in 3D DLP, they wouldn't be saying that 3D will fail. And as thor posted above, they are doing it so we *won't* need any headgear. 3D has remained a success for years in the theaters; there just wasn't an efficient way to bring the technology to the home front that was appealing and inexpensive. With every passing day, people want to experience things in the most realistic ways possible. 3DTVs, depending on the price and how it's marketed, might do well. It all depen...
What people who write these kinds of articles fail to realize is that Sony is one of the lead pushers of new technologies. They were the first to implement DVD playback and technology into consoles (PS2), to which others regurgitated; and, now, they have added Blu-ray to the PS3, which has trumped HD DVD and leads the market in high-def mediums.
Do Sony's decisions to try new things out always pan out for them? Absolutely not. But what we do have to respect them for is that they ...
Am I tempted to get this? Why, yes. Yes I am. The thing looks awesome.
As much as I love Mario, he really wasn't my reason for gaming. Sure, he's a charismatic, fat little guys with the most unique mustache known to man. But what did it for me was Duck Hunt and Gyromite. There was nothing funnier to me than squeezing those scientist dudes between those puzzled devices. Epic memory.
A fat guy for a thing for deep pipes? Ron Jeremy did well for himself.
I really enjoyed that era. But nothing tops it for me like the early and mid 90's. With SNES and their damn RPGs that were just orgasmic.
Kinda looking forward to this. Reminds me of Blitz in a way with some crazy looking mofos.
A very well written piece, in my opinion. One of the reasons I am so in love with JRPGs is because of how the story, although at slow paces sometimes, unfold like those in books. I've always loved the genre because of its ability to tell a story - even if linear.
Because the genre of Western RPGs are becoming extremely popular, some people tend to want to take elements of it, which is already embedded in their subconscious, and apply it to other titles like JRPGs. Although the ov...
Mine was a handle I've been using for YEARS. Since the time when I used IRC. That was the good old days...
I agree with a lot of your points. From a personal perspective, I won't say I enjoy the series as a whole, but more or less a handful. To me, Square Enix has produced far better titles in the RPG genre than what they have milked with the Final Fantasy series (e.g. Xenogears, Radiata Stories, Secret of Mana, etc.).
But, sadly, the Final Fantasy name itself doesn't need anything but prettier visuals and the name to drive sales since it has such a gargantuan number of followers.
From what the Japanese are saying (e.g. Famitsu) the game is great. Praises have been sung, and I'm expecting nothing less than greatness. Plus, what Final Fantasy that's made a console debut has sucked? In my experience, none.
You have the right to your opinion, but to seriously sit there and say that Bayonetta will "poo" all over God of War III is a bit... crazy. Now, I'm not saying that Bayonetta is in anyway a bad game because, god knows, it is far from it. But when you compare it to revolutionary games like God of War, it's either showing two things: one, you didn't play the GOW franchise, let alone the demo or two, you're an Xbox fanboy.
What we've played in the demo earlier in the year ...
With a ridiculous lineup hitting the first half of 2010, I can definitely say that it is the year for action games. Just look at the games hitting so far by April: Darksiders, Bayonetta, Splinter Cell: Conviction, God of War III, etc. we're not even focusing on games that will be hitting in the Summer-Fall timeframes. Given, Final Fantaxy XIII will be a big player along with a handful of other RPGs next year, but when we look at the the ratio of action games to RPGs, action games take the cak...
This is one of the reasons I love gaming. I played the demo myself today and found myself *really* enjoying it. This is the kind of RPG that I enjoy - unique, beautiful, and just plain fun. I am definitely looking forward to this game and am crossing my fingers for a swift NA release.
Valid points were made as to why he specifically didn't enjoy the game, and I respect his opinion. I'm pretty sure that a lot of folks will also disagree, but everyone can't have the same tastes. I agree 100% in the fact that the review was well written.
It all depends. If you're a horny never-got-laid gamer that is over the age of 30, yes. Otherwise, I personally feel it doesn't. Why would I buy a $60 game that shows me boobs, when I can pay for a Penthouse magazine that will cost me $7... and show *real* women. Then again, there are the aforementioned folks...
It's been a loooong time since I actually played me a Wrestling game. To me, nothing compares to N64's No Mercy - the game is the cause behind many sleepless nights.
An excellent read. I honestly have to say that this is probably one of the most creative pieces of writing that I've read in gaming. Looking forward to reading the rest of the list.
The first FFX had me crying like a little baby at the end. All I kept on saying to myself was, "Poor Tidus... poor bastard, man!" while whimpering on my pillow while screaming in it so no one can hear the sounds of sadness. FFX-2 wasn't as *great*; but it was good enough to play through and see that both Yuna's fine ass and Tidus hook up once again.
