"The 360 doesn't let you fully install and just boot off of disc one. You still have to swap out mid-game."

someone hasnt played Forza 3 or 4. that someone is you btw.

You install the second disc of Forza 3/4 and then only ever need the first disc from then on out.

its just up to the developers to do it that way. the small handful of developers that have even needed to use more than 1 DVD just havent done it this way apart from ...

They never intended to change to $.

MS points are a worldwide currency, and as such it allows them to do worldwide pricing. If game A is 800ms in the USA it is 800ms in the UK. It then leaves it up to them to decide how much 1ms point costs without having to have different pricing per region. So while 400ms might cost me $6 here in Australia, 400ms in the USA might cost $4, yet the only price tag you'll ever see is 400ms.

"None of this DVR, augmented reality"

really? might want to do your research:

Play TV/Torne - a DVR for the PS3: http://www.sony.com.au/prod...

Wonderbook/Eye of Judgement/EyePet etc - Augmented reality: http://www.gameinformer.com....

oh you mean that guy from sony is criticizing microsoft, their competition?

well he MUST be telling the truth then......

we know that theres a dashboard update coming this year, we saw it at E3 lol.

its not a full redesign, but they were never going to do a full redesign every single year. its just expanded on the original metro dashboard.

heres the current one:

note how its only got 2 rows of tiles.

including the 360 CPU makes a lot of sense for more than just backwards compatibility.

having it there means that for 720 games, that entire CPU can be devoted to Kinect and the OS, leaving the entire 8 core CPU for the games. its a brilliant idea actually - it means that developers do NOT have to worry about Kinect or the OS/in-game guide taking up resources. so they can make a game exactly how they want, and then add Kinect features in on top of that at literally no cost. t...

Lol @ the stupidity in here.

"wow I get so many FREE games with PS+!!! All I have to do is pay $60 a year to get those free games, and I have to pay it every year or my FREE games disappear!"

How can you kids not see that if you're paying for something it's not free? By your logic, online play on the 360 is FREE, you just have to pay a yearly fee to get it for FREE. Exactly the same deal.

IT'S NOT FREE IF YOU'RE PA...

"how difficult is it for MS to just replace the components on the assembly line that infringe with ones that dont? "

very difficult, since the patents are to do with STANDARDS ESSENTIAL things. that means that they HAVE to be used, and thats why everyone is rallying around microsoft.

basically, motorola are trying to hold microsoft for ransom - while everyone else sells the license to their patents for a few cents, motorola are demanding $20+ per pa...

Microsoft isnt to blame, Motorola/Google are.

The patents that Motorola own that microsoft are using, related to H.264 playback, are what are known as "standards" patents, meaning that in order for a device to meet the standards required of it, it has to use those patents. there is an agreement that all standards related patents must be made available at a reasonable (and cheap) price, since they are an industry standard. they must be offered on a FRAND (fair, reaso...

The gameplay was exactly the same as the e3 gameplay because it's the same pre-recorded gameplay video.

People on here don't seem to realize that very few, if any, of the on-stage demos at e3 are actually being played. They are essentially trailers, but made from someone playing the game. Think FRAPS.

This isn't anything against naught dog either, it's how every developer does it at e3. Why? So things go EXACTLY as planned in the footage that ...

the fact that last E3 sony devoted basically their entire conference to 3D, yet at this years there was literally NOTHING about 3D speaks volumes, since sony were the ones forcing it on everyone so they could sell TVs.

the reason 3D wont take off is because for a game to be in 3D they have to significantly reduce the graphics. if it can be made to look good in 3D, it would look twice as good without 3D.

take a look at these comparison pics of Uncharted 3 in 2...

"The point is to surprise ppl with new(GREAT)games or services "

lol

if you think thats the point of E3 youre sadly mistaken. E3 is just a trade show for developers to show what theyre working on. now with so much media coverage, its just a big PR thing for the big publishers. its NOT aimed at the "core" crowd and its certainly not about surprises.

the author missed the point of E3, thats for sure.

i love how on N4PS3G the absolute MOST important thing is NEW IPs. doesnt matter if the new IP is terrible, doesnt matter if the new IP is a freaking interactive book that doesnt even work in its on-stage demo - as long as its a NEW IP. and as long as its not a new IP on the 360, cause then they just get disregarded (like how every PS3 fanboy in here is just conveniently forgetting about the 3 BRAND NEW NEVER HEARD OF BEFORE IPs that were announced for the 360 in their E3 conference).

with EVERY first party title coming from microsoft supporting SmartGlass, this could potentially be a game changer.

like what happened with a universal in-game guide, friend list, and achievements, if gamers and developers take a liking to this, expect the competition to follow suit.

the beauty of this is that there is absolutely no new hardware needed. you dont need to hope that your phone/tablet is compatible either - if its android, ios or windows, itll w...

@fr0sty:

Xbox 1 lost over 4 billion dollars - that's what happens when you start up an entir new division lol. Hundreds of people to employ + hundreds of millions of dollars (most probably 1 bil +) in R & D + 10s of millions budget for games....starting a console business is not cheap. The original Xbox was never expected to be profitable. Microsoft have said as much - they have a three step plan for the console business:

How is this news? All throughout E3 Dan Greenawalt was demoing the game and giving the interviewers hands on with the game. This article makes out that All they showed was a trailer.

firstly, for a game that has NO anti-aliasing, that PS3 "screenshot" certainly has some damn good anti-aliasing. HINT HINT HINT.

its not a screenshot. its a "screenshot" that is rendered in a huge resolution with AA out the wahzoo and then downsampled.

the wii u one, well its a completely different suit and it does look like an in-game screenshot due to the aliasing that is present.

in conclusion, who gives a flying f$#k w...
