they only put them on the disc BECAUSE they wanted to sell them. if they werent going to sell them, they wouldnt have bothered making them. if you dont like it, dont buy them. big deal.

the PS3 version obviously uses Quincunx AA, giving it that blurry look. apart from that and the usual colour differences, they look the same.
so the win goes to the 360 as it isnt ruined by QAA.

its all well and good, but Terms of Service agreements arent and never will be legally binding.

Kmart here in Australia just released their new catalogue, and they have the standard version of Gears 3 for only $68! that is an INSANE price for a new game, especially of the level of Gears 3. RRP is $120! for those of you in the US of A, itd be like a shop selling gears 3 for $30 on release.
kinda makes me regret spending $340 on the Epic edition + Retro Lancer Replica lol.

these arent new numbers. remember, it was 51.8 million PS3s vs ~54.8 million 360s a fair few months ago. if 51.8 million is the CURRENT number then theyve sold barely any in the last 3-4 months, and microsoft have increased their lead to probably about 5-6 million.
they havent though, as these arent the actual current sales.
it wont be US only - ive gotten into the last few and im in Australia. obviously any where they need to physically ship something to you, ala a copy of Halo Reach on the next disc format, will be restricted to the US only - but this is just a firmware download.

Gears of War 2s online has been fixed for 12 months lol. living in australia it was damn near unplayable for me for the first 12 months, but theyve slowly and surely ironed out all the bugs in the 6 title updates. they added region filtering, client side hit detection, etc etc, and as of TU6 it was running nigh on perfect. they even had dedicated servers running without telling anyone for testing for Gears 3.
cant wait, 7 more days til i get my epic edition + replica gold retro lancer.

well thats just taken the "best graphics on consoles" crown from Crysis 2 on the 360 for sure. the graphics in that video are insane, and you can tell its untouched because it does have aliasing and other little real-time things like that.
and to think the PS3 fanboys will STILL say that Uncharted 2/3 have the best graphics on any console lol.

i love how people think the XMB is some revolutionary design that is absolutely groundbreaking lol.
its a simple left/right menu with up/down sub-menus - these have been the norm for DECADES before the XMB was made lol. most websites from the 90s had these menus. the original Xbox 360 menu was this exact style, just with more graphical flair, and this was before the PS3.

does it matter? they sell more 360s in any given 6 month period of any given year IN THE USA ALONE than sony have sold PS3s in Japan IN TOTAL.
Japan is quickly becoming irrelevant in both the software and hardware world of gaming. their developers stick to making games with their antiquated japanese styles/design decisions, while the rest of the world is making western styled games. hardware wise, the japanese have long been known to be fiercely loyal - if there are 2 options...
did you even read any of the reviews of gears 3? basically the ONLY reason it wasnt scored higher than its already brilliant scores is because it didnt do much new with the basic gameplay.
if gears of war 2 never existed, they wouldve rated Gears 3 much higher.
