Starfield could be massive. They're starting a new franchise because with Todd Howard at the helm, he could create a third franchise of the same class of Elder Scrolls or Fallout, then they've got three big guns of this quality. They're playing the long game. And let's not forget the first months of Fallout 76; even massive franchises are not immune to poor decisions and quality out of the gate.

Games that are written exclusively for next gen tend to fall by the wayside (Thinking about Ryse, or even Infamous Second Son, which was an existing franchise that hasn’t been updated in 7+ years). Don’t forget that the end of one generation and the start of the next are not all that different because developers haven’t had experience building for the new console. Look at the first and last Xbox One and PS4 games and how much better they look.

They've already come out and said that this event is for partner developers only, *not* first-party titles. This is even reference with Aaron Greenberg's tweet in the article.
This will make it so great for buying a game, and while waiting for it to download, you can just play it via xCloud. Once the full game downloads, your save file resumes on the local copy.
The game is about a post-apocalyptic world. A bit too on the nose to be released in the middle of a global pandemic.

This is very fair. Let's all share news that is actual news before rumors. Usually rumors are fine, but when they have the ability to incite or further incite hysteria, slower news in the name of being accurate is the appropriate way to handle it.
Agreed here. The first comment makes it sound like there is no single-player at all on PC, which isn't true. Especially because the second sentence says "first you rip out a game mode" which sounds like the campaign you were just talking about. You assume we all know about the other mode(s) that was/were ripped out.

Agreed, they have to have a proper cadence set out for all this stuff years in advance, but with three massive games, also need three massive development studios, and Todd just has to be better about splitting his time up, because they need to be developed concurrently and even learn from each other.
