I love that they’ve managed to make a successful Telltale game and now another unique take on Minecraft. Can’t wait to play this.

How are they calculating monthly active users? 103 million out of 105 million consoles sold? There is no way any hardware product has a 98% use rate months after release, let alone years, not to mention let's just say 2% of people out there who have broken or damaged consoles, stopped playing games, etc. That means every single other person uses their PS4 once per month? Something is off in the metrics somewhere.

Edit: added detail

Username checks out.

At least you gave yourself a facepalm for that one.

TL:DR it's not.

The tech is there, now it’s just up to developers to use it. The best way for Sony to courage this is to use it in interesting ways in first-party games.

I would bet that 80%+ of gamers have never touched vibration settings on their consoles, and developers absolutely use the features.
Keep in mind that this is a gaming-focused site, and the vast majority of gamers are much more casual than we are.

Seriously, right? I've got a white Xbox controller that you can't tell has any wear on it despite being used daily.

We all said that about the haptic feedback in the Joy-Con until we basically felt marbles rolling around inside them. Nintendo hasn't used the functionality much, but if Sony and its dev partners do, haptics could be a big game changer for this gen.

Hmmm... when the latest and greatest things are lauded as the best ever, aren't they always "the perfection of everything that had come before it"? Not disagreeing that the SNES controller was phenomenal, and that the Sony controller evolved it, just throwing it out there.

Good call, added it in there. Thanks!

IRetrouk, okay but even that logo came out five months after the Xbox Game Studios logo.

This logo intro is virtually a shot-for-shot remake of the Xbox Game Studios logo. I'm excited to see what this really means, but they could have been more original about it, especially because it's the same concept.

Solid. I like this. Could totally be this!

Starfield!!

Wishful thinking, unfortunately. I'd love to see this, but I have a feeling this is still another two years off. Just haven't heard a THING in so long.

UGH *drools*
We've been waiting a looooong time for that. Imagine it is entirely next-gen and they announce it a year in advance?
Let's just hope it didn't have some sort of bioweapon or pandemic plot and it needs to be delayed because of how close it is to COVID :/

Don't forget, everyone is working from home right now, so that adds a huge layer of complexity and reduces efficiency overall, so some delay is expected. They also probably don't want to plan everything for June when everyone else was expected to have it, though ironically no one has really been announcing June events.

I'm hoping it's not quite thaaaat long. With any luck, Starfield is out by holiday 2021, let's say. Then maybe a three to four year dev cycle on Elder Scrolls VI? So Holiday 2025? Yeah I guess that is maybe closer to the end of the next-gen given a 7-8 year cycle, but maybe they overlap development a bit and we get Elder Scrolls VI in 2024. Who the heck knows?

Holy eff. Some issues, naturally, but what a great little proof of concept. Gamegasm right there.
