The 360 outselling the PS3 in the UK isn't exactly news. UK has a tendency to follow the US market.
What is more interesting is the 360 outselling the Wii. How the hell does that happen and why?
I admittedly only used the PS3 browser 10 times. Out of those time at least half the time it crashes. It crashed on Hulu and then crashed on YouTube (although it is integrated).
The browser needs a lot of work, because it is very cumbersome to use and glitchy. I stopped using it since....
I think PS3 users would benefit more from a stable browser with better UI than netflix integration.
Of course I'm going to get gazillion disagrees from the SDF, but any...
There was a huge confusion initially due to the developer claimed it would run at 1080p (he didn't say native though), but it is all confirmed through studying the game that Sigma 1 is running at 720p native.
That is why I for the most part buy games on sale i.e. when they cost less than $40 in many cases less than $20.
There is probably only a handful of games I paid full price for close to release date. If you are conscientious of the console price you are also likely to be conscientious about the game/accessory cost as well.
I initially had the reaction of no ads in games, especially after seeing what Ubisoft did to RB6V with Major League Gaming.
However, after seeing other games I realize that Ubisoft just did an example of how to screw it up.
Conclusion, I have no issue with ads as long as it fits my need. In fact, I like ads because it brings things I might otherwise not notice to my attention. This of course assumes that the ads are relevant. The way I see it, the NXE is already ver...
agreed. Didn't know you could do stuff like this in Ragdolls.
I think this would be more of an issue of going after third party developers more than anything primarily because MS doesn't need to make this available to third parties and just allow them to implement their own.
The only recourse then for Sony is to go after the third party developer/publisher and not MS.
"The difference in increased processor speed was night and day for many gamers, who noticed better lighting, more particles, and a few minor differences."
Wait, so there is different model PSP (not GO) that have different processor speeds that affects game play experience? If it is true, that is crap and only significantly hurting consumers and especially the early adopters!
That is like having different PS3s with different experience depending on if you bo...
I'm calling a $50 price cut and introduction of slim. It makes perfect sense based on the 10% loss on each unit sold. The slim will carry the momentum of $100 price drop instead....
A $100 price drop might just be too large...
the gazillion trophy/achievement whores that played hannah montana and avatar for points!
I'm wanting a slim too, but waiting for Thanksgiving. Hopefully there will be some killer deals on the PS2.
I'm not too hopeful on the emulation (although before I was practically begging for it), since the current emulation of EE alone already causes incompatibilities. Introducing another even more complex part to emulate is likely to cause the compatibility to go even more down....
Generally speaking with software you own nothing and is only given a license to use the software. Ever read the eula of any software you buy?
This is no different than buying Windows Vista and have all versions on the same disc. You don't get all of them do you?
Now I do detest DLC, especially the kind that normally would be free or included. However, consumers aren't entitled to anything and can vote with their wallets. Apparently the masses have spoken....
I agree, fool.com is a great resource of information and opinion pieces.
It is far from a blog type site and people will pick a apart an article given the opportunity. I like fool.com because people there are logical even though they might disagree with you.
You mean like how Paypal does it or any other bank... oh wait!
You hit it right on the nail. I think people often miss the point behind the business decisions being made. These companies aren't about loyalty and serving you. They are about making money, if they didn't they would be sued by shareholders and etc....
So the fact that people believe that a company will do bla bla bla and such just goes to show how naive they are.
This comment wasn't intended towards anyone specific, just noticing a common theme.
The 360 I believe got a FREE DLC. A FREE DLC!
What more can I say, there is no reason why Valve has to support anything, but the fact that they did officially pledge support is a plus in my book. I'm no fan of L4D, but still thinks this whole petition is ridiculous. Why do we have double standards on different game devs when plenty of rehashed games comes out yearly.
Valve has in some ways spoiled their fans. Ironically the fans have made them who they are.... Maybe...
I must be dense for this types of games, but to me the whole game moved really slow and I couldn't bear to like the game.
Perhaps it is just not my game genre.... my cousin though plays this game every day! I just can't see why it is good. Before people hit the disagree button, this is my personal opinion and experience.
This is the problem with patenting software ideas. Example of this is the amazon 1-click purchase.
I guess all companies do this so they all kill each other while the lawyer is laughing all the way to the bank!
It seems most people here forget to take into account:
- higher sales tax in Europe (Norway has a whopping 25% sales tax)
- higher taxes on income/profit
- higher wages
- potentially higher cost due to mandatory warranty
- localization costs (doesn't really apply to this game though or region)
- local customer support costs
All these things factor into a higher cost. For instance an increase from $100 to $200 (100% increase), means that ...
I enjoy many things, more than I probably should, but I ain't tattooing anything on my body let alone a game title (or anything related) for that matter. Not for a TV+PS3 either.
I think there was this one guy that tattooed something on his forehead and got $30k. At least he got $30k and not $2k worth of electronics that will depreciate.
