I don't know what sites or programs you are using (warez maybe?) to get constant viruses and malwares. In my many years of computing I have only encountered viruses/trojans a handful of time.
The key is don't download files you don't know where they come from and stop visiting those questionable sites (the ones with nude people on them).
The issue with PC gaming is cost. Sure you can build a computer for $400, but that often excludes OS cost as well as upgrade cost i...
The way I see, MS pledged to fix any console afflicted with RROD for 3 years. They have done right by my book. That is an attempt to fix a problem and just imagine how much this is costing MS. Nobody in their right mind considers this a proper business model.
How can Xbox be better next? I'm expecting the usual, more horsepower overall and perhaps blu-ray (or equivalent large capacity format). However, I want to see something new and unique. Natal is a first step towards this, b...
Update: Matt Atwood at BioWare just contacted us to clarify his statements from earlier today regarding Mass Effect 2's exclusivity to Xbox 360 and PC. He says, "It actually does exist for Mass Effect 2. And beyond that, we haven't announced any plans."
I guess that sums it all up... no Mass Effect 1 (most likely exclusive as well) or 2 for the PS3. Although, I personally wouldn't mind it exist on the PS3 as long as 360 owners also get the same content. I hate different...
In my opinion the blu-ray coating is one of the best features of blu-ray. I never have to fear that the disc will get scratched, because the darn thing is so though. I even tried to scratch my own disc with a key and well it didn't!!!
Now what this article is saying is that blu-ray disc are more likely to crack, which isn't impossible and has less to do with the coating. Perhaps the disc is much less malleable and therefore cracks more easily than DVD.
Because the a...
“In order to succeed at its original vision, Microsoft probably has to sell us a new SKU,” said Pachter, after we asked him how long it will take Microsoft to deliver on its vision of a converged entertainment hub. “The true entertainment hub will need a huge hard drive, DVR functionality, an always on Internet connection, perhaps an HDTV tuner, and a ton of content available.
I didn't consider the DVR + HDTV tuner, but that would be pretty cool although I don't have cable TV.
I see a $350 price tag on the slim. Why? Because people that bought the phat one would be pissed if the price differential is too big, but a $50 differential instead of 2 games/movies still remain a good trade off.
This is also inline with what is realistically what Sony can save considering the current PS3 has reportedly been said to lose 10% of the cost at the current price. That is almost a $100 savings to Sony if they break even on the slim at $350.
What are you talking about?
Actually HHG is considerably worse than Pachter. At least Pacther does some careful analysis while HHG just looks at last weeks headline, rehashes them usually with some flamebait title and calls it rumour. Worst of all, he is 99% of the time wrong.
Remember when he claimed Ninja Blade was the Ninja Gaiden killer. Well I bought the game (not based on his outragous title), turned out to be turd! Count me blesses as I wasn't ripped off for more than $20.
No, but I will take real life skills anytime!
but yeah, the HDTV can be used to view, GASP, TV!
A TV (or HDTV) purchase is a large purchase that happens once in a long time while a PC upgrade seems to happen at least once every year. Now it might cost $300-400 to upgrade a PC now-a days, but since I bought my console I have had to upgrade it zero times in the last 2 years and there will be no upgrades in the next 2 years either.
Not to say that PC gaming is inferior, but rather costly overall. The PC experienc...
I don't know about if it will work or not, but while viewing the video I had many hiccups alone....
Ever watched a youtube video and constantly get incosistent frame rates? Occassional freezes.... yeah! Not my ideal gaming experience.
I'm hopeful and we will see....
I'm looking at the games coming out this year and I realize that there aren't too many games I'm excited about:
Uncharted 2 (I'm on the fence)
NGS2 (big NG fan!!!... but still a rehash)
Modern Warfare 2 (0hhh, yeah!)
Bayonetta (looks awesome)
Halo 3: ODST (I'm on the fence)
Splinter Cell (I'm intrigued)
Nothing too exciting this year, but next year is starting to look great (on top of my head):
GoW3
Alan Wake
Los...
The RROD just doesn't occur as much anymore and MS did give 3-year warranty on it. If anything else breaks, you are in the same sh!thole as you were on the PS3.
Heck, what I read around forums is people intentionally inducing RROD when something else breaks to get another machine out of warranty.
The price differential is just different business models. Every company has to make money somehow and I do agree that some of the accessory cost on the Xbox is outrageous, b...
Holy She!t, I didn't know it was that expensive for Qore!
It is $20/annually a savings of over 45% off the individual episodes. So each episode is around $3.5 each?
I have never seen one, so I can't comment on the quality or if it is worth it. Anyone care to fill in what this show is about and why it is worth $20?
Last week the 360 sold half of what PS3 sold so that is not bad, but I guess if the 360 sold bad then I guess twice the crap is still crap.
This game hit the bargain bin so fast.
I ended up buying two copies of Haze for $10 each to play co-op with my brother. Frankly it was worth less than $10 in my book.
Do you think people are gonna spend $30k on marketing without considering that possibility?
Reality is that he was bounded by contract to not remove it. I don't remember the details though.
Personally I think resolution is overrated. In a HD movie I could hardly tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on a 40" TV and that is around twice the resolution. Sure I can see a little more detail, maybe some more detailed skin abnormalities on the actors, but nothing that blows my mind away.
However, a game like Prince of Persia had excellent art direction and looked beautiful. It is a very relaxing game, but I constantly marvel at what they did with it. Games like ...
Basing it off amazon.com is completely misleading based on the assumption that the etailer ordered equal numbers of games for both the 360 and PS3. In most cases, etailers order more for the 360 (in the US) and that is one of the reason why the PS3 limited edition of SF IV was so hard to find.
I don't doubt that in general fighting games that rely on the d-pad will sell better on the PS3 as the 360 d-pad sucks @ss!!! I had to buy the mad catz controller for my 360, that is how b...
