it is an interesting idea, but I think there are too many factors at play to be able to do this reliably. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think so.
I dunno, the problem is you've listed 5 things so if anyone disagrees with even one of them they're going to disagree with your post most likely.
I personally don't mind paying for xbox live. I know I'm getting good service for my money.
Downvotes are fine. But I guarantee you that you won't use that feature near as much as you think you will, regardless of which console it's on.
Also how addicted are people to gaming that they can't go take a piss without taking the game with them to the toilet? lol
It's a cool feature.. but in most situations it seems like it's really not necessary.
It's a cool idea, but at the end of the day you don't actually own anything, which is a big deal to a lot of people..
There are a few reasons.
1) older hardware fails eventually.
2) Consoles usually have very few games available at launch.
3) you could sell your PS2 and use that money to buy a PS3 at the time, and continue playing games you already own and love.
I still think MS is going to surprise and have software supported backwards compatibility, just like they did this gen.
The figure being thrown around the other day on n4g was $89 per year
I like how you're getting all these disagrees for something that the Ubisoft guy actually said for a fact after the Sony conference.
you are right, but nintendo is also a publicly traded company. This means that as soon as they start losing money and their shares lose value, the investors start pitching a giant fit. They're simply not going to sit back and say, hey lets agree to lose money for 20 years. price drops in shares cause companies to do some desperate things, like axe products that are losing money. Or roll out yet another console ASAP and try to pretend the old one never existed.
I doubt...
@GameNameFame
MS had the idiot arrested most likely because he sold equipment that physically belonged to MS aka the dev kit. That's theft. The NDA he would have signed would have stated that he didn't actually own the gear. Not because he spilled the beans, that would be a civil lawsuit.
I was impressed with the online stuff and the overall vision but the games didn't impress me. Some you could tell were prerendered (and they didn't bother to say otherwise). some of the games weren't even exclusive. On the feed I watched, it had an after-show and the guy from Ubisoft said that Watchdogs was running on a PC not a PS3 for the demo. Also Watchdogs is not exclusive, nor is Destiny nor Diablo 3. Tech demos were interesting but they aren't games and a billion b...
Why is it pathetic to review the company's prior track record? Nothing stated was untrue. SCEA and Sony itself are both known for hyping their products using lies. If that bursts your little bubble, blame Sony.
Also the fact that it's not even available in north america for any system
PS2 looked alright. The original PS3 looked like an oversized burger container similar to the old mcdonalds styrofoam containers before they became illegal. Worst looking console ever. PS3 Slim not so bad, PS3 super slim is kinda crappy, but lets hope Sony doesn't make it look retarded this time.
Whatever they announce, expect them to embellish the facts. It's a Sony Classic.
I like how the same people bitching about MS rumour of 'always connected' are also saying how great it is that Sony is heavily integrated with all of these online services... ITS THE SAME THING!
another pointless article..
All I know is the wii-u will have to come down in price significantly before I'd even consider buying one. the 8 gig version is 299.99 CAD. Some good games would help too. I'd almost pay current price if I could get Dragon Quest X, but sorry, Japan only. Does Nintendo give a shit about north america?
still wish this would come to north america :(
People forget most PC games don't get made without Microsoft Software.. from Windows to Direct X to Visual Studio.. they made it all. And if a developer knows how to make games on PC they can make games on Xbox they just have to port their code to use a bit different API for the various Xbox specific services etc. That's why they won so many 3rd parties over to do multiplat with them. Easy and cheap to release on Xbox 360 and I wouldn't expect anything less of the new Xbox.
