'Micoshafts BoneBox Done'
And you wonder why nobody takes you seriously.
I really don't think anyone was surprised by this. If you were you probably had your head up your ass for the past 6 years while blu ray became the dominant format.
Well the problem with this theory is that if you have no power at all, you can't even turn your xbox one on anyway. I think the biggest concern is what if Xbox Live goes down for over 24h, or they decide to pack it in for whatever reason. Then you have a pile of worthless games you can't play but cost you tons of cash.
This has been debunked by Major Nelson.
A simple search revealed that the PS3 is indeed quite hackable so for all those comments above mine that say it isn't, you are completely full of it. It's as hackable as the PSP. Just get a custom firmware on there. You don't even need a mod chip. I don't know who you're trying to fool by saying nobody is playing pirated games on PS3 or it's not hackable. It's been jailbroken for years.
I'm most concerned with what if Xbox Live goes down for a period of time, or at the end of life of the One, they decide to shut 'er down. Then your right to play games you paid for just goes down the drain. I don't want a pile of games I paid for to suddenly become worthless because some tool flicked a switch in Redmond.
Yeah they've been saying it's coming for a long time now. I seriously hope it happens soon. I've been checking their site every couple of weeks for months now and no news! I'd love to see this on console as well.
I thought he was possibly overreacting in his first video as we didn't have official confirmation. But now that we do, I agree 100% with him. I love my 360, I have a PS3 but the 360 is my main console. I was planning on getting both PS4 and X1 at launch. Now.. at the very least, I'm seriously considering only getting a PS4 at launch. Microsoft has really disappointed me, and I bought a LOT of games new. I guess Sony will be getting most of my money this round.
Regardless of what everyone may feel about this - posting to a website is not part of democracy. You do not have infinite rights to write whatever you want on a website hosted by someone else. It's their site and they can do whatever they want to the content, including moderation and banning.
I don't see the problem with using batteries that can be swapped with rechargables/charge pak. At least you can remove them easily when they eventually die.
It's probably because if you have normal batteries inside, it can't charge them (they will explode if you try), so it uses USB power instead of battery power if it's plugged in.
The controller is probably smart enough to know the difference between regular batteries and the official MS charge pack, and will charge that when the USB is plugged in as well.
'The GPU is being underclocked as to avoid certain performance and heat issues. That is just what we currently know. '
You currently don't know jack as this is a rumour and most likely a false rumour as it doesn't make much sense.
'Since the One was clearly a rush job'. Oh? care to fill us in on how you 'clearly' know this? Just popped it out last minute did they, without spending years on it? Yeah I'm sure you're r...
They did deny it at first, but after the first year or so (not 'half of the last gen') they extended the warranty voluntarily and also replaced all of those RROD boxes that people were sending in.
Yeah there was a high failure rate but you make it sound like there was no support for the end user, which there was.
I bet the future of final fantasy is a slew of remakes and that sucks.
It's not the greatest name but a lot of people don't seem to grasp the concept that there's a difference between 1 and 'One'. There's a subtle difference in meaning. That's why that 4>1 is idiotic. I agree that calling it the Xbox One was not the best choice, however 4>1 shows that you don't even understand the name nor the subtleties of the English language. If you don't understand the difference, you need to go back to school.
They are both guilty of doing this kind of thing. Playstation did it with Diablo 3 at their PS4 reveal.
technically you rented it. once you stop paying you don't get to play anymore.
so now fathers day is so unimportant that it gets to be split with graduate students? too cool, best buy, too cool.
I really don't like how the phrase DRM is being thrown around in the context of this movement. What is being asked of Sony is really only a small portion of DRM as it relates to used games. When someone says no DRM, that technically means that there'd be nothing stopping you from making a 1:1 backup copy and putting that backup in the disc drive and playing it as though it were a regular copy. That is no DRM. There will still be lots of DRM on the PS4.
Just playing devil's advocate for a moment. What if all the publishers decide that these restrictions are great and decided to make games only for Xbox instead of Xbox and PS4. Or what if publishers like it so much they demand Sony also do the same thing if they want multiplats?
