It depends on how you define "can't be done."
BF3 on consoles doesn't perform anywhere close to how it does on a high end PC. That can be said for a lot of games.

Personally thought Gears 3 had a pretty weak story, the weakest of the series. Was never engaged by it. Still enjoyed it, though, and the gameplay was fun. Hordez!

First off, your assertion of most TV's and monitors running at 60hz is rapidly becoming antiquated. Practically every high end screen in Best Buy now runs at least 120hz.

@Lazy: please cite references for this notion that the human eye sees at 60fps and therefore it's a more immersive experience. Because that sounds like a load of bullshit. Never have I heard of a scientific measuring of "fps" for human vision.

Not sure what you have, but I've been rocking the Fanatec Turbo wheel for about a year now. Works for both Forza and GT. It doesn't have quite the kick as I remember my Logitech having, but I still love it.

I've been playing GT5 for months now and I love it. This weekend I switched back to Forza 3 for a change. Instantly I felt like I was home. The menus are so much cleaner. gcolley is correct. Flat panel displays are incapable of displaying interlaced signals. Everything is made progressive. 1080i refers more to the signal being sent to the TV, not so much how the TV is displaying it.
720 has a more solid image, but 1080i has better fine-line detail. It all comes down to personal preference.

On-topic: Rocksteady earned my loyalty and praise with Arkham Asylum. Such a beautiful game, well written, gorgeous gameplay, phenomenal atmosphere. A true joy to play and the type of experience that destroys any and all notions that the best games exist as only as exclusives.
This is a brilliant way of expanding the 360 experience. DICE deserves a round of applause on this one. It just goes to show that with a little ingenuity and creative programming, the 360 can still hold its own.
