Hipster indeed.
Granted Japanese games have declined this generation, they are still the ones I look forward to the most in gaming.
So someone tell him to go back to play games on his ipad.
I think the effects of this game has been greatly exaggerated. XIII-2 is a good game. Not a great game. Not a terrible game. But a good game. Because of previous FF sequels, I wasn't expecting much but this game really delivered a lot more compared to predecessor.
Not the greatest game of all time, but to say XIII-2 is bad isn't true either. It's "Good". And that's what Square Enix needs at the least. A good game to show all hope isn't entirely ...
Which is why if they're going to do DLC, it should be full story length expansions that add 5-15+ hours of play.
Granted, it wasn't the best Final Fantasy game of all time, but it was still pretty damn enjoyable, and a heck of a lot better than the original XIII.
I personally love Unreal Engine 3, as a UDK developer. It's incredibly user friendly, and really easy to start creating great looking games with.
FFXIII was a critically failure, not a commercial one. The game was pretty lackluster, but it was fasting selling Final Fantasy game in the series, and did sell 6 million units. Conversely, was also one of the lowest rated and generally disliked by most fans.
Admittedly, when it was first announced I was a little turned off before the art style. That's before I saw how beautiful and lively the art style allowed the world to be. I fell in love with the art style. The game is still a master piece. The World was giant, open and beautiful. Nothing really to hate about this title.
One of the best games I've ever played.
Agreed. Auto battle's strategies are weak, and the game is much more preferable when you select abilities.
hahaha., it actually looks it's from this generation this time. Looks like 343 knows what they're doing.
haha. Yeah. Something about a flying pope doesn't seem to threatening. Then again, inbetween the transforming summons and robot gods, who's to say whats logical at that point?
I don't think Link should speak. I always thought his reactions to things were good enough to cover his emotions. But I don't voice acting for NPC's would be such a terrible thing if they had a decent cast.
To me, one of XIII's biggest problems is the lack of a strong nemesis, one that truly had a prescence. Orphan seemed really tacked on, and Barthandelus was a little interesting, but the fact he was a flying pope didn't really do it for me
I liked the idea of rivalry between Noel Kreiss and Caius Ballad. It is something FF has been missing since X with Jecht and Tidus, it was all very powerful in FFVII with Cloud and Sephiroth.
So if anything for FFXV,...
This game has a surprising amount of post-game content after beating it.
"Best" is subjective, it was *awesome*. Because Lost Odyssey was much more old school than 13--it was very much like an old Square Soft RPG in HD. The characters personalities were much better than they were in FF13. Admittedly, the costume designs were a bit ridiculous, but they may have something to do with it being the same character designer from FF12!
All together, if it wasn't for technical issues and this game only being available on Xbox360 where the JRP...
I don't understand how many times I must say this on this site (But hey it is N4G where you can only be a fanboy or a hater), but I did not love XIII, it was about a 6/10 for me. I do however enjoy XIII-2--and yes, there are other people who feel the same.
I think if they have 2 games named Final Fantasy 14 that might cause a problem...just saying... LOL
Final Fantasy XIII-2 sold around 2 million World Wide, which are some pretty heavy numbers, but not enough to warrant Final Fantasy XIII-3...Not to mention despite it being a good game, there isn't enough critical voices clamoring for it either. If they want to conclude the story, just give me a giant 10-15 hour DLC expansion that covers it all.
FFXIII-2 is ironic in the sense that it has the smallest and biggest number of party members of any FF ever (LOL That's some what of a 'Paradox' isn't it?),
Essentially, you play as Noel and Serah the entirety of the game, You immediately have your party, and the game immediately drops you into exploration catching your monsters that can be used in battle, and 'do-whatever-you want' style adventure.
The action picks up from the start,...
You know what I find strange about this game's story? I ended up liking the characters this time more than just the over arching story itself. The Story itself was decent, but the characters were such a huge improvement over XIII. Even the characters from XIII are somehow much more likeable and tolerable. Even Hope Estheim, who is actually (or should I say shockingly) one of the most bad ass characters in XIII-2.
The backstory of Noel Kreiss and Caius Ballad is more emoti...
Actually, Both consoles are in a funny position. Xbox360 does much better in north America, Where as Ps3 tends to do better mildly PAL regions and Verrrry greatly in Japan.
Really, that's one of the many big reasons we have so many multiplats this generations.
