You know, you really got admire Square's commitment to fixing this game. Any other company would've abandoned this game or made it F2P to try to recoop their loses, but Square remade the game from the ground up--they even remade the game engine, and all the content inside of it, and they are adding new content as well.
FFXIV actually gives me more faith Square than anything else they're doing at the moment.
As badly as I want Versus XIII to be there tonight, This montage more than likely just "Happens" to have a clip of Versus XIII in it, and isn't confirming anyway.
They did not change Agito XIII's name because of XIII. They changed it because they wanted to create a new Final Fantasy Spin off series, The Type-X series. Which is why've already trademark Final Fantasy Type 1-4:

If anyone recalls the reaction Twilight Princess' Reaction when it was announced--there were literally people crying in the audience, so they said. I think it would 10x the situation if they remade Final Fantasy VII.
Hey PsychoNinja, How've you been?
Yeah dude, I'm hyped for E3. It would make me really happy if Versus XIII gets renamed to Final Fantasy XV, but I'll settle for anything big from Square this year. They said they wanted to make Final Fantasy (number iterations) come out every 1-2 years now like it did in the good ol' days, and considering Versus is already pretty far along, why not?
Business wise and Fan service wise, that's a good decisio...
They DID stop making DLC for this game, Requiem of the Goddess and Snow's story were the final DLC's.
No Last Gaurdian and No Versus XIII.
It's hard to believe there are games that have been there since the Dawn of the generation that still aren't finished.
Saved by XIII-2? I know some people (ranma1) who are preparing to commit seppaku at the moment.
Looks to be very cinematic in nature. Although, I hope there's a lot more to it than just fighting Caius the whole time.
Actually this Episode is what Lightning was doing the entire time during XIII-2, and is supposed to shed light on the ending of XIII-2.
Edit: I wonder why I disagree for stating a fact...
Here's what I don't understand about that "Nomura stop doing other things and finish Versus XIII" statements I see. The "core" of Nomura's job on Versus XIII is done. The Story is finalized and as are the character designs at this point. It's the actual development teams themselves who are taking the long to be able to put together this game. Nomura at this point is able to work on Versus XIII and other games.
So yeah, this isn't Nomura...
You guys I never said or meant make FFXIII open world. I said it should've had more variety and more things to exploration. Exploration doesn't mean Nonlinear. Even X had a level of exploration. And no FF has been "Open World" entirely, it's just allowed to have sometime to do something differently.
And all honesty, if that type of gameplay didn't fit the story, that's the type of scenario where you do adjust the story to allow gameplay mechanic...
The things FFXIII needed boiled down 3 things:
1) Sprawling world with a lots of Variety--ie more to do than just walk down a hallway and fight monsters. Minigames, Exploration, Airships, etc. The game, at the end of the day, it felt like there was nothing to do in it.
2) Better Characters with better Character depth. XIII's villain is unknown until the end. Caius made for a decent villain XIII-2 because he was well defined with motive--and actually had a...
Yeah, It doesn't return Final Fantasy to it's former glory, and it's not really supposed to, because it's a spin off/Sequel, but it is a large improvement to XIII, a really fun game, and definitely shows that Square at least understood was wrong with XIII in terms of gameplay and arguably character design as well, as Noel Kreiss and Caius Ballad's rivalry alone is more interesting than anything in XIII.
Actually, this doesn't mean anything, the fact that it's not on Square's E3 list. Let's remember, there is a huge possibly Versus XIII may get renamed to either Final Fantasy XV, or become it's own spin off series like Type-0 did. If that's the case, Final Fantasy Versus XIII wouldn't be listed, especially if the surprise announcement is the game has been officially dubbed FFXV.
Also, Lets not forget--I'm NOT Saying Versus XIII is multiplat---b...
Anyone remember WiiConnect 24?
yeahhh, similar concept to that, except they never did anything with WiiConnect 24.
Hopefully this one they will follow through on.
I was actually hoping the title would be Type-0 for the West..
You know, If there's anything about XIII-2 that keeps over into FF15, It's the jump button. The ability to jump is actually really nice feature for moving around environments and exploration.
well, from what I heard, it more or less 'explains' the ending, rather than creates a new one, so we really don't know what we're gonna get until we get the DLC.
re:Final Fantasy VII and/or Final Fantasy VII-2 indeed.
That or a *true* Pokemon MMO from Nintendo.
