Woah, Lightning has a ridiculous amount of amount of HP. 53k. Also, interesting enough, she has different combat roles. This should be interesting. Also, Valhalla appears to be a playable area, and during the daylight as well. This could be quite the interesting expansion.
I hope it's long though. It needs to be at least a few hours long.
While XIII wasn't that great of a game for me, it wasn't that bad either, and I had to say, I think some of things in there were pretty decent. It wasn't as horrid of a game as people say it was, but it didn't satisfy my thirst for a new FF. Although people make it out to be the worst game of all time.
To me, the biggest problem with XIII had more to do with the pure lack of content and variety. All there was to do was to fight battles, and doing missions were...
Well, Final fantasy gets a "Free pass" because everything from the characters to the gameplay is brand new with each iteration.
But that's also why I don't mind Mario games. Mario Galaxy, Sunshine, Mario 64, were all very fresh experiences. Mario will never get old to me as long as he keeps going into new, territory and exploring new ideas. In fact, that's what I love about Mario.
Actually, it's sort of strange to think Europe will be getting it first (What with subtitles for other European languages taking more time), but it's good for them. They rarely get titles first sometimes have to wait absurd amounts of time before they can get a title (ie Catherine)
To be honest, For a lot you above who haven't bought this game yet, the game itself is complete enough to not really need any DLC. The DLC is nothing more than costumes and coliseum fights. There has only been 1 story DLC and it wasn't even worth buying (even then, it was only $5).
The only DLC I plan on buying is next month's Lightning Episode. There is a LOT of content on disc already.
He saved the world in only 24 minutes. Now he can finally go back to Sleep.
Really, I rely on my friends more than anything. I think of them to be more sensible people who don't really have any real motive to convince me if the game is bad or not.
cryEngine is awesome, but UDK is a lot more user friendly.
How do you know Ranma?
"I will never play or purchase Final Fantasy XIII-2" - you
But on a lighter note, I wouldn't say this game was "amazing", But it was a pretty damn good game. About 8-8.5/10-ish range. Perhaps if it was longer, and the story was set up in a more epic fashion, and there were more playable human characters, I think it could've been a 9. It may not have been a traditional FF by any means, but at least it was a 'Good...
Pretty much. Homophobic Kids on N4G who claimed to have played this game, when we all know they didn't. I understand how some people were people expecting something different out of an FF, but to say XIII-2 was a bad game is completely untrue to almost anyone who's spent any real time with it.
@jc48573:
hahaha, I immediately thought of Western Developers. But Well the title says "Another Developer" so that includes both Western and Japanese developers. But if you logically think about it, who would Square most likely license FF to considering their desired appeal to the Western Audience? I don't think they would just give it to just another Japanese developer.
For a Mainstream Final Fantasy XV? It could potentially do a lot hurt. Especially in Japan, because I don't know if Western developers can nail the character design like Nomura and Amano have in the past.
But for a spin off game, or a new game in The Fabula Nova Crystallis Compilation, I think it couldn't hurt. I would love to see it happen but ONLY provided it wasn't a numbered iteration of Final Fantasy.
If they keep going, FFXIV might turn out to be the game it should've been from the start. I'm actually rooting for them on this. Most companies would've simply abandoned the game and cut their losses, it does make happy they're willing to fix what they messed up.
Although,Problem is, they need to stop messing up so much out of the gate.
Oh please. You said on here, "I will never play (or buy) Final Fantasy XIII-2". Not to mention, you said the game was going to be bad the moment it was announced. Do you think anyone honestly believes you played the game and fairly evaluated it on it's own merits?
To the anyone who believes Versus XIII has moved away from Fabula Nova Crystallis:
The trailer from just last year, Over a year after XIII's Japanese release:
http://www.youtube.com/watc...
1:26. You clearly see the words: 女神エトロ, which is Megami Etoro or in English "Goddess Etro" as they talk over the painting of Etro.
Oh and when you said "Type-0" tried to move away from Fabula Nova Crystallis, have you ever played the game? There's a Fabula Nova Crystallis: Final Fantasy Logo in the game.

The game is even divided into Chapters like XIII and XIII-2 are, so that also a appears to be a theme/approach to FNC series.
<...
@VanillaBear. Simply Put: No.
They would have to rewrite the entire story for it to not be about Etro, and Crystal mythos, and also lose many art and gameplay assets tied to it.
Type-0 did not move away from Fabula Nova Crystallis. In fact, there are quite a few L'cie in Type-0:

Due to Final Fantasy XIII and XIV, and non-FF related performances on HD consoles this generation, Square Enix needs (to the point of where their life depends on it) to reaffirm the public opinion about them, and Versus XIII is a fantastic oppurtunity to do that. But there are two big things about it:
1) They will need to release a demo before release and a have a steady flow of media and trailers like they did for XIII-2, where XIII-2 was in the news cycle every day. We were...
I find it funny as hell they released DLC for a game..about another game that seems to be far from release.
If they wanna give any kind of Versus DLC to hype the game, you could at least did a Noctis Coliseum fight for XIII-2.
Actually, The Snow DLC costs more because it includes 2 Coliseum boss fights and the episode as well. The Lightning DLC is only an episode.
