"I don't want Versus anywhere near FF XIII. "
Oh Man, you're gonna be really disappointed when you find out that Versus is part of the myth/series as XIII called Fabual Nova Crystallis.
Uhm. I wonder if you guys will ever realize that Square Enix has more than one develop team and has multiple teams working on various projects, and the people involved with Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts are entirely separately.
At this point if Versus XIII doesn't become FFXV and/or if FFXV hasn't been in development this whole time, then they'd might as well wait until next gen for FFXV.
hmm wow, they JUST started? That actually changes a lot.
I actually don't think this is XIII-3 now as we thought of it. If it was they wouldn't have just recently started. The Development would've began right after XIII-2's if it was.
It's possibly XIII-3 for Vita or 3DS however, and concludes Lightning story.
or *SPOILER ALERT*
Since Lightning wakes up at the end of Time, it maybe a Fabula nova Crystallis game that involve...
Lost Odyssey, without question. best JRPG this generation, period.
"And not associate with XIII"
Kind of hard for that to happen when Versus is centered around Etro and L'cie.
With that said, I don't see anything wrong with FFVersus XIII become XV even as a Fabula nova Crystallis title.
A good Final Fantasy, Definitely. Remember how stellar Square Enix's support for PSP was? I hope they continue that for PSV.
You can definitely get a Pulse...And a Cocoon alongside it...Especially if XIII-3 is real as speculation suggests.
But as far as Noctis' story goes, being patient sure is hard.
In manys XIII is an evolved and streamline version of X-2. These like Paradigm shifting is a streamline version of Dress Spheres and such, and both shared a very similar development team with Toriyama at helm.
X-2 had some excellent gameplay overshadowed by a horribly unentertaining story and theme and few playable characters. It's open-ness and combat system were superb if it wasn't for all corny the moments and poorly written story elements, and the bizzare Toriyama'd idea of having a party made up of one gender...
This game had an effect on me when I first played it all those years ago. It showed me the true meaning of games as a unique art form.
Honestly, I want JRPG's to be the next big genre again. Nothing was better than the PS1 and PS2 era of JRPG's.
Really? You're saying X-2 is better than XIII-2? You've obviously never played XIII-2.
Out of all the things not to like about XIII....the linearity, the sometimes overly automated combat..I have to say the lack of the original Victory Fanfare was the most bothersome flaw to me. :|
Soo...now we play the game and have fun?
If that was a problem (voice acting), Why do regular iterations of mass effect in example come out come in such a short time?
These long development times on Final Fantasy games are really hurting them. I remember one of the great things about Final Fantasy in the past was that the number iterations would come out fairly quickly enough so that if you didn't particularly like a Final Fantasy, A new would be coming out within the next year or two to be more of your taste. But somewhere after X, that sort of cycle began break.
A translation from Yoichi Wada's Twitter:
“It seems someone is spreading a false rumor about Versus being canceled. Heh, just a few moments ago a regularity meeting for Versus ended. If you were to see the city [in the game] presented today, you’d wouldn’t be able to stand from surprise, lol.”
Holy Crap, he mentions an epic city that was presented today in Versus XIII. This is going be awesome!
If Versus XIII is truly cancelled? Final Fantasy XV.
If Versus XIII isn't cancelled? Well, if Versus isn't going to be renamed into a number iteration of Final Fantasy (15), then in order to continue they franchise, Final Fantasy XV still has to keep up the quality for the main franchise.
Versus XIII is definitely what fans needed for reassurance in Square's Quality, but XV (whether versus becomes 15 or 15 is a new game) needs to be good to keep Final Fant...
Wow..only $40. They're really to lure people in. I'm currently a Final Fantasy XIV player, and I gotta say the game has come a long way and is actually pretty enjoyable at this point.
