Yes I am.
@ smashcrashbash: The problem is the people only want what they know just better. Look at Little Big Planet or Journey. Nobody told them to make games like that but still they're making money with it. Of course the companies want to make money but there are some developers that are passionate on what they do. Developers that try to get gaming to the next level.
Every form of art polarizes people. Everybody has an opinion on everything. That's how the human brain works. And of course you have the right to post your opinion in the internet. But you don't have the right to tell a storyteller to change the story because you didn't like it. Even if you spend 60 bugs for it.
Have you ever been in the theatre and saw a movie you didn't like? Have you told the scriptwriter to rewrite the parts you didn't like. Have you e...
I agree.
I have the platinum on SFIV. That was a tough one. The hardest thing were the Trials. Normally everyone has his prefered 3-5 characters but to get the platinum you have to learn the mechanics of all characters in depth. I Haven't tried SSFIVAE yet but it should be even harder since you have more characters.
Maybe all this motion control and touch screen stuff isn't just trend. Maybe it's here to stay but what a real gamer always will need are buttons. So don't tell me that the iPad is better for games. For Casual gamers maybe but not for serious gamers.
I haven't played any 3D fighting game with so much in depth fighting mechanics like they are in 2D fighting games. I just think that the 2D fighters are more polished and balanced. Whenever I play a 3D fighting game it kinda feels incomplete and unbalanced. But that might just be because I don't feel home in 3D fighting games. Just the inclusion of Focus attacks in SFIV have brought such a great variety of possible combos. But I see why it seems like there isn't much new to someon...
It has changed. Have you played SFIV or BlazBlue? Of course it has been more of an evolution instead of a revolution but if you look at SF2 it already was close to perfection. That's why so many people are still playing it.
Agreed. The last good Tekken game I played was Tekken 3.
For me it's SFxTekken. Since I got the SFIV platin trophy I really know the gameplay mechanics in SF. Tekken mechanics are not for me. Even a noob could beat me. First time I played Tekken 3 I was just repeatedly mashing the X and O buttons and have won every fight. I'm not saying that I would've won against a Tekken pro with that strategy but in SF you can't just button mash and win.
I was really good at Contra back in the day. I've played it so much that I couldn't understand why everybody else was complaining about it's difficulty.
One of the hardest video games I've played was Eternal Champions (fighting game) on the Genesis/Mega Drive. I couldn't beat the Eternal Champion with any fighter except Trident.
Especially when it's clear that the singleplayer has suffered because of the inclusion of the multyplayer.
The problem aren't the publishers or the developers in the first place. It's the gamers that don't want to pay full price for a 6-10 hour singleplayer game anymore.
I don't say it should've ended after the first two big assassinations but it should've ended before it did. You say I shouldn't care for the end of a game that bores me but you're also telling me that I've missed out on AC2.
1. The only thing that makes me buy a sequel is it's predecessor. How can I trust the developers if I didn't like the first one?
2. Even more important is that I'm a story interessted gamer. I really l...
This is a reply to your post below.
"Why would you want to play a boring game at all, regardless of length?"
"I rather have a short great game than a long boring one. And if they're both boring I would prefer the short one too."
Ok first of all that statement wasn't meant to be taken serious. I should've added a smiley or something. But still I want to explain another thing.
I always try to finish any...
Final Fantasy XII, Oblivion, Fallout 3, GTA 4 were all too long for me. I mean not just too long but too long for the story they tell and for the gameplay variety they offer. I totally understand that these are critically acclaimed titles thus many gamers may disagree with me on my point but I can imagine myself having a better time with those games if they would have been shorter.
Games like Heavenly Sword and The Darkness 2 are among my favourite games this gen despite it...
That's probably not going to happen. Unfortunately.
Well Game Developers are artist just like musicians or film makers are. I think that most of the creative directors wouldn't like to be reduced to one specific genre. They need to have some variety from time to time or the quality of their games probably won't stay on the level it is right now.
Bayonetta wasn't that hard at all. I've played through on Climax difficulty and do not remember it being harder than an avarage game on the hardest setting.
"The Darkness II is every bit as atmospheric and intense as the original – only this time they’ve really cranked it up a notch."
Man this sounds fantastic. I've been waiting for that game for more than 4 years. The first one is still one of the best games I've ever played. Sure it wasn't perfect gameplay-wise but the deep atmosphere is still one of a kind. The 6 hour campaign doesn't bother me in any way. Remember Heavenly Sword and it's 5 hour c...
Exactly. Sure the piracy is a bigger problem on PC than on consoles that's why most games won't sell as good as their counterparts on consoles (unless it's CoD or GTA). But it's way esier for a little indie dev to make games for PC.
Beside that some genres like RTS have their home on PC. Imagine playing Starcraft with a Controller. If it isn't one of those genres and as a developer (which I'm not) I could afford to develop games for consoles I wouldn...
You know what? It's the games and the direction the console is going in that forms the target group. Sure the Wii is primary a console for casual gamers but it doesn't mean the Wii U will be the same. If you look at Nintendo's past consoles you can see that the audience changed. If the Wii U can pull of some exclusive core Ips I don't see why hardcore gamers shouldn't be interessted in the Wii U.
Xbox 360 - 954? Wow I admit that I don't get why the 360 is still selling so good in the US compared to the ps3 but I don't get why it's selling so bad in japan either. patriotism? Europe seems to have the most open minded people cause you won't see such extreme numbers here.
