After they stabilize the game, connection issues and such, then they can focus on gameplay tweaks. I really hope they nerf that mortar.
it was only one dirty rat, and it almost got the main character killed.
everyone's bound to have at least one gripe with a game. But 10/10 means the game is head and shoulders above the competition, not necessarily perfect (that's how reviewers see it anyway).
There's a such thing as blind judgment. You may not see, notice, or might not care about an inconsistency in a game, but that doesn't mean it's not there.
Im perfectly content with how battlefield is. The radical ideas and mechanics they implement in each iteration is why i keep coming back. The jump from bf2 to bf2142 clearly encompasses that.
If battlefield tried to conform to a COD playstyle or tactic, then that's the end of the franchise for me. And I would lose all hope in the game industry in terms of creativity and innovation.
not counting the fact that there are 3 separate games for SC2. The terran, Zerg, and protoss which are all getting a separate campaign and units coupled with improvements, but is till called SC2 and not SC(insert a number)
Also consider that SC1 was made in the 98 so why tear a national Esport away from what made it a sport.
you don't have to be a fanboy of anything to see this is exactly what's happening.
I hope ME2 has a different art style. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED the style of the game. But with Frost Bite 2, they should really push it through it's paces with great level design, multiplayer, lighting, fluid colors, and atmosphere. So much untapped potential waiting to happen, granted the first one was made with the Unreal Engine.
COD 4 still holds up well. I'd play that over a lot of shooters that have came out recently.
ARMA and Operation Flashpoint are Battlefield's bigger brothers. Starcraft is a whole different beast and has a HUGE learning curve that comes with it. Me, I have played all of these games, and as far as starcraft, I know i'll be eaten alive online (Broodwar BTW). But I have perfected my game against the shoddy skirmish AI.
My credibility is C&C (rest in peace), Starcraft, Warhammer, Company of heroes, and countless others.
as far as FPSs, ARMA, ...
"Hopfully by the next gen they will have figured out they can't get of with using the cod2 engine anymore"
Well, if you keep buying the game, they won't care. It's the same with BF. In BF2, the game was SO unstable at launch and people hated it. But today, after countless patches, it has outlasted every BF game in terms of time invested by players.
As BF players, our duty is to complain, complain, complain. It helps make the game better....
They care more than you think. My little brother says that's all he plays them for. $60 for 4-6 hours of SP, Activision knows they'll pay for it.
Why is every shooter campaign labeled as "meh" or "lame?"
Have you heard of Bioshock? That is an FPS. And it was amazing.
I actually found TDM hardcore a lot of fun. Although when TDM was announced I told myself I wasn't going to enjoy it.
@Mystic
You have my respect. good points.
"I’m absolutely sure that people are going to throw around the term “Modern Warfare 2.5″ when talking about Modern Warfare 3′s multiplayer component, and that’s not a bad thing. Remember how much fun you had, and how many hours of your life were wasted playing MW2′s multiplayer. Well prepare for a similar investment."
don't worry about it. I have played every BF, and every COD and I say that you are spot on. Teamplay gives a much more sense of satisfaction rather than lone wolfing things.
TF2, Counter Strike, ARMA, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six. All amazing technical achievements. COD is along the lines of Unreal Tournament.
Proof that the BF franchise is technically better: BF2 couldn't even fit on consoles, they had to make a port: BF:MC for xbox 360, xbox and ps2.
kicking ass since 1942.
(NOT FROM ME)
+Solid campaign mode great vehicles great story.
+Solid campaign graphics that honestly remind you of rage but with a lot more camo and reality involved (Rage Review ).
+Two disks give me the option of using the multiplayer co-op disk as a coaster
-Multiplayer is below sub-par and should not even be an issue in this day and age, especially when i am pretty sure my phone could offer more ram space than EA is offering at the moment (could change cro...
1) Why so serious?
Because war isn't funny.
3) Add Celebrities and Superstars!
Then it'd become mainstream. And mainstream tends to be censored and controlled garbage.
xbox 360 is the best way to play any recent COD game. It's fact that the PS3 and PC versions of them are badly made ports. I didn't buy BLOPS, but from what my PC and PS3 friends said about it is that it barely passes compared to the 360 version. Face it, Activision doesn't give a crap about the other platforms because M$ is so hell-bent on making 360 the best way to play the game.
