Infinity Ward won't be scared. They will still make money from COD because most people will still buy MW3 just to see how it stacks up against BF3.
@hoops
I'm getting a new pc. After playing BF2 on my laptop recently, i feel i must.
if you look in the review mirror, the objects in the back disappear. PGR4 doesn't even have that tech glitch.
also note that the rat in the trailer was the rat's cousin from Mirror's Edge.
@thelastguardian
"Twisted metal has helicopter and car combat at it's finest" <- You forgot motorcycles.
The WHOLE BF series has helicopter, jet, tank, car, truck, infantry, naval AND hovercraft combat AT ITS FINEST.
I'm not talking down twisted metal (I love it for what it is), but it's just not on the level yet. (The new TM looks pretty damn good though) :)
Flying aircraft (fighter jets) isn't innovative?
COD is excluded only because it sold over 1 mil.
amazing
I still play BF2. I bought it a month ago and lots of people are STILL playing the game. I also played BF2:MC for PS2 last year 2010, and people were STILL playing that. So far none of the BF games have died and aren't slowing down either, just ask the hundreds of people playing 1943.
I want to play the Beta right now, it looks good enough already to be in the beta stage anyway.
Please call it Battle recorder from now on. I hate how call of duty and Halo suddenly became a dictionary for FPS terms.
Nice article and very interesting points. Yes BF has had some shady history in the past but you cannot deny the fact that the games they produced were very good games which is what matters in the end.
@battleaxe
That's where you are wrong. DICE has released a FREE map pack with 2 NEW MAPS and 2 REMADE MAPS. Also, They made BFBC2: Vietnam FOR ONLY 15 Dollars! That's 8 maps, new guns, new era, new vehicles, new skins, and new music for $15.
That's content worth paying for.
I like how dice is just holding off info and gameplay so that we'll eat up whatever info we find. I can't wait till Fault Line EP:2 comes out!
Next GEN!!!!!!
O god, that picture looks amazing. It's almost like a Mirror's Edge type city design.
@DaCajun
BFBC2 did have micro destruction, just not on everything. Otherwise snipers could just shoot out of a hole in the wall and not get seen. The stone walls had micro destruction just like the trailer, DICE was not lying, in fact they didn't lie about anything so far, so why this?
Damn, cant decide which one looks better. I'm excited for BF3 but I won't shrug off the hard work that Killzone and Crysis did. Easily the best looking games (in their own right) of the year. Now Uncharted 3 needs to show us what it has up it's sleeves.
I'm making a PC. PC fanboys: you win
Play AARMA2 then. it takes hours to find someone and if you get shot once you die. That sounds fun doesn't it?
